I understand we have more money next yr my point is couldn't we have just reworked his contact and gave him a 1 yr deal for say 37mil and came out 10 mil to the good ? Why would he do that? Why would he take less money? He saw what happened to guys like him this past offseason. Barring a resurgences he'll prob be sitting at home on opening day 2020. If he had taken 10 mil less from us to get his money upfront he would have lost 10 Mil. Kemp is on his final contract. And please finally understand this, we didn't just rid ourselves of Kemp for next year. We also got OUR NUMBER 3 STARTER AND A GOOD UNTILITY GUY! Both of which could hold trade value at the deadline. For petes sake how many times does it take multiple people to say the same thing before it gets through your thick skull? It would be a raise for Kemp not a cut the braves would just be buying out the 36 mil they owed Kemp and then next season any deal he would get would be bonus .and as for our number 3 we could have signed Lynn and still came out ahead . I understand why they did it but to me spending 43 mil in one yr is worse then spending 36 in one yr

Well it’s a done deal.
At some point I hope we stop beating this dead horse. We’ve beat the issue to death, we’ve continued to beat it, we’ve drug it through the mud, and we’ve stuck a stick of dynamite in its rear end and blown it up...
... yet we are still talking about it, lol
Now I don’t care if everyone wants to keep talking about it as that’s up to whoever wants to make a post, but that’s my opinion. No one is going to change anyone’s opinion, and Kemp is a wide boat that has already passed under the Braves bridge.

sigh........
for the 16th and final time.....
We owed Kemp $43M but the Padres were paying $7M of that.
So we owed him $36M.
We took on $48M from the Dodgers.
It is costing us $12M to have McCarthy and Culberson for one year.
Then we have the Kemp money freed up to spend next year.

Well, we can forget about the Braves signing Blackmon. He just signed a 6-year extension.

For what it is worth, with all of the talk about protection. 6 games in, Freeman is still one of the best hitters in baseball.

Well, we can forget about the Braves signing Blackmon. He just signed a 6-year extension. I was going to bring that up yesterday but it hurt to much he was our best shot at getting a stud FA OF now I guess Puig or maybe Pollock are our options. However what happens if Tucker keeps hitting which I hope he does . Also if he does do they hold off on Acuna in a few weeks or do they bench Tucker or even Nick. Or if Tucker continues to hit till 5he break do they package Ender and JT for a minor league stud OFer. Tucker can change the Outlook a lot next season
