The mistake people make is living and dying by one or two things and ignoring others.
All of these stats give you a piece of the puzzle and you should use all the info available to bake your opinion cake.
Except for wins and losses for pitchers... that's stupid.

True, and some people, including one major league manager, completely ignore them 100%.

The should-be-but-wont-be NL MVP Freddie Freeman.

How exactly does Free Man take a low inside fastball over the wall to the opposite field to begin with? It's freakish how he can drive that pitch the other way.

He keeps his hands inside the ball pulling them through the zone first and it results in good backspin to the opposite field. Most can't resist the temptation to try and pull the ball.

Yeah, I understand the physics of it, I think it's the ability to pull it off that is so impressive about Freeman.

My point was that it wasn't physically freakish. It's just a willingness to take that approach.

Ian Anderson. With just 6 regular season starts in his career, and all coming within the past 5 weeks, he has been phenomenal. Back to back shutout performances in the wild card clincher and today. Pitching like a grizzled veteran. He held it together so well after thst lengthy first inning. Barely any trouble after that.

I'm thinking player of the game goes to everybody today, with Wright leading the way. We left no doubt from the get go who was the better team.
