I am well over that 94 strike, as for Glavine to me he was just being a good player rep at the time
The business of the game can be dirty and it stinks but the results were there for Glav and can never forget the biggest game in franchise history to date one yr later.
5 20 W season, 242 wins as a Brave and we sure were better off with him than without him in his time. Do not have to love him but love the results and in the words of Stone Cold Steve Austin, "That;s the bottom line"

But I do still appreciate that he helped my team a lot.

I love them all until they make outs and stuff like that, then I hate them all.

Top 10. That's tough for me. I put Aaron number 1 even though I never saw him in his prime and he was rarely on TV in my youth. He was just magical to me, probably because I was 12 years old when he broke the record.
1- Hank Aaron 2- Dale Murphy 3- Chipper Jones 4- Phil Neikro 5- Javy Lopez 6- Greg Maddux 7- Freddie Freeman 8- Tom Glavine 9- John Smoltz 10-Andruw Jones
That's a heavy dose of 90's Braves, but we all love a winner, right? There are some kids on this team who may make it if I live long enough. Acuña GAPOZ, Riley and yes, Dansby to be specific.

These are personal favorites...it in no way implies that these were the "best" players for the Braves.
Also Considered Henry Aaron Tom Glavine Dale Murphy Tim Hudson Fred McGriff Glen Hubbard John Smoltz Andres Galaraga Freddie Freeman Andruw Jones Phil Niekro Ralph Garr Greg Maddux Claudell Washington Javy Lopez Brian McCann Ron Gant Ronald Acuna Jr. Terry Pendleton Darrell Evans
Just an after-thought. I grew up in Richmond, Virginia in the 1950s and 60s. I grew up watching the Richmond Braves the Triple A farm team of Atlanta. The R-Braves had some great teams/players during that time. Two of my favorite Braves were Tommie Aaron (Hank's younger brother) and Jim Beauchamp. Beauchamp was basically a career minor leaguer, but he had light standard power and he hit some mammoth home runs out of old Parker Field. Saw Murphy come up in the mid-70s as a catcher. Great memories.

Felix Millan is a guy I want to throw in here - a good second baseman who hit for contact and considered a good offensive middle infielder for his generation. Braves traded him away for Gary Gentry to the Mets and he was a part of that 73 WS run for the Muts but was a good solid player here and a contributor to that 69 division winner. Made a couple of All Star games in his time I think.
Glen Hubbard and Rafael Ramirez are guys I want to recognize, contributors to the 82 team and were regulars through the 80s. Glen Hubbard I do think got a ring with the late 80s A's
And remember the eventual Sherrif Pat Jarvis who was not a bad pitcher for us for a few yrs. Okay will not mention his career as Sherrif but he was a servicable pitcher for his time.
Lastly how about Pascual Perez, nickname I 285. Had a couple of strong yrs for us and of course a contributor to the 82 division winner

Find something to complain about in every tread?
Can't you guyz use this tread to just celebrate the good stuff?

Yep, this tread should be used to celebrate the good stuff.
Remember when Gene Garber broke Pete Rose's 44 game hitting streak back in '78. That was fun to get at the Reds who were quite the pain for us back in those days in the 70s. Had to laugh at how Pete Rose whined when all Garber did was his job.
As for closers of the past, Cecil Upshaw in the earlier days of the franchise was quite good, was a big part of that 69 team.
