Remember I just complained about us having a short bench so that we can keep Tomlin on the roster......and then we end up having to use Vogt to pinch hit with two on and two out in the ninth.
Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt.
But at least we have Tomlin out there. For whatever possible reason.........

Contreras cannot possibly be a worse option than Vogt. Then again I also thought Vogt couldnt be a worse option than Kevan, but he is. Those two turds have ruined a lot of opportunities. Automatic outs the both of them. Power wise, they are weaker than Corky Miller.

I would rather have seen Max Fried pinch hit there instead Black Hole Vogt.

When we were down 5-0 I fell asleep, but awakened to see Vogt reach the blackhole.

I checked back in to see it 5-3 with Duvall at bat with a 3-0 count with 2 men on base, and had hope. Then he struck out and the only available pinch hitter left was Vogt. I knew right then it was game over, and he didn't even waste time. 1 pitch, 1 game over. Max Fried absolutely would have been better, Huascar Ynoa would have been better, Charlie Morton and Ian Anderson would have been better.

Black hole Vogt, won't you go And wash away with the rain? Black hole Vogt, won't you go? Won't you go? Black hole Vogt, won't you go And wash away with the rain? Black hole Vogt, won't you go? Won't you go?

We must always remember that we play teams like the Dodgers not only at a payroll disadvantage, but also with two less available roster spots.

No we never really considered Max there. You don't want to use a pitcher there unless you have no other players available, and Vogt has a lot more experience making outs in that situation. Plus he was due....

It's a damn shame that we knowingly send a guy to the mound that you KNOW can't keep the damn ball in the park, and then there's the Vogt thing. I wonder what this team could do with top-notch leadership.

It still gripes me that Touki was sent to the pen over Smyly, because Touki just had 5 good outings in a row. The worst one of the 5 might be better than Smyly's best game all year.
But Smyly has those veteran presents. Some people call them "home runs."

Snitker and AA need to just man up and accept they made a bad decision with Smyly and wasted a bunch of money and take him out of the rotation. He’s an automatic poor outing now each time out. So we wasted the money, let’s not double down on the stupidity and lose games because of it too. Tomlin is the only guy we have who is worse than Smyly.

Every player in the home run derby next year is going to ask if Smyly will be their pitcher.

There's 11 Million reasons Smyly is still in the rotation.

There's 11 Million reasons Smyly is still in the rotation. I know, so they might as well double down on the ignorance and let him cost us games too on top of the money.
