Can't win them all.
Some days you're the bug, some days you're the windshield.
Win tomorrow and it's all good.
Yep, somedays we da grass, somedays we da lawn mower. Today, we was da grass.

Yea but nothing worse than losing to that team with those fans rah rahing taking over your territiory I can live with a loss to even the hated LAD or Muts but nothing I despise more is that team, those fans and that stupid pinstripe uniform. I always hated Stanton from his Miami days.

You would think our entire season ended tonight with the way some folk are acting. I guess they didn't think we would lose another game all season.
News-break: We will
We will probably also lose a series or two. I hate it but it's sort of funny watching how some people react to it.

Face it, losing sucks, its more fun and relaxing when you win and it always feels better But the good run had to end facing that team - in my book for the sake of pride and territory tomorrow's game is a MUST WIN game I do not want the embarrassment of those NYY fans making fools out of us and our team - I hate them and I hate Stanton - throw at him

Stat of the day--between 2013 and 2016, Will Smith had 1 save. And 18 blown saves. Is that even possible?
For his career he has 77 saves and 30 blown saves. Yup, he's an elite closer, nothing to see here.
"There is nothing to worry about, Will Smith is the best closer in the history of baseball, he will win the World Series for the Barves."

Rodriguez has pitched 11 innings with us, given up 8 hits, 1 run, 1 walk.
ERA 0.82
WHIP 0.91
BAA .200
But he's being used as a 6th and 7th inning guy, and somehow was up and throwing tonight and then had Santana and Chavez used as he sat back down.

I was actually okay with Santana, but when things started to blow up the hook should have been really quick. I wasn't keen however about the Chavez move. That was not a good matchup for him.

I would have preferred Rodriguez since it was the 8th inning of a tight game, but it wasn't the end of the world with Santana coming in because he's been pretty good. But he hasn't been used that late in games and he folded a little under the pressure. It was just really odd to have Rodriguez available, have him up and throwing, and then choose him to be the one who sits down and then follow that up by choosing Chavez next. Strange thinking in my opinion, but then not a surprise. Sometimes I get the impression that Snitker views games where we are down a couple of runs as lost, so what the hell, don't waste the better relievers to try to keep the game close. We've lost several games where we down 2 or 3 runs and he brought Tomlin in to pitch in the 6th or 7th and Tomlin gave up a bunch of runs. To me when we're losing by 2-3 runs in the 6th or 7th it's super important to keep the game close because we have a good chance to come back. But last night was very typical of his thinking--he saw we were down 3-1 and didn't want to use Rodriguez to try to keep the score there.

Well the part that bothered me was Chavez. Santana got two quick outs but after he allowed two base runners it became the "got to hold them moment". Instead he stayed with Santana for one more and then turned to... Chavez.
