We needed that win for me, to continue hope for this team.

Mike Puma @nypost_Mets Pete Alonso was asked what he would like the Mets to accomplish before the trade deadline tomorrow: "The deadline is tomorrow?" Alonso said.

Say what you want but if this team had its full compliment of mlb players, Dansby with his defense and power fits in pretty well. I am okay with that he has come a long way from his first full yr in 2017 I would like to see the BA in the 250 or 260s with the OBP in the 320ish range. That would be a bit more consistent We could do worse. He was more consistent last yr and was clutch in late innings last yr we remember the big hits late in the game

The bigger question is why not let Chavez pitch another inning instead trying to make sure we burn through everybody in the pen. Becuz manniging teh bullpen is HARD.

Maybe we can trade Panda for a couple bags of diamond dry. A pile of rabbit turds is about the best possible return.
But if I was AA I would do the deal and sneak into teh locker room during a game and put the rabbit turds in Snitker's shoes.
But that's just me.

Now that he's gone on an extended hot streak, he's about due for one of his patented 3 for 60 slumps where he strikes out 45 times.

Call me crazy if you want but Smith has been better than we on this fourm give him credit for
Decent save percentage, good WHIP and strike out per 9 ratio
No he has not been Mr perfect lockdown, has had some grotesque lost games but overall you really can do worse for a closer.
Seems like some of the budget conscious just do not like the money and I get that
But look at available relief pitchers this winter - money or not I would take my chances on Smith over much of what will be available - some of those guys who used to be good are injured or ineffective.
He made a bad impression last yr when he gave up all those HRS, has given up 4 this yr. But he has been more decent than not.
I think the Braves FO likes him better than this forum.

A very predictable and very meh 5-4 trip for the very average Braves. Cut bait with some of the unnecessary players (I’m looking at you, Panda) and see what prospects we can get for Morton and Smyly. That’s all we need to do between now and tomorrow. Anything else is just wasting time and resources. This team is not going to play over .600 ball and win the division. But, we have a chance to see what some of the kids can do between now and October. That will give AA a chance to better evaluate what we need for 2022 and beyond.

The only reason his numbers aren't way worse is because he's had a lot balls hit hard right at people.
