I can't help but wonder: Are the Braves on the verge of a Florida Marlins-like fire sale?
The Braves are the one team in baseball publicly owned. Which means Liberty Media's top priority is to its shareholders, not to winning.
And while the team fleeced the taxpayers for a stadium, that doesn't really mean they need to feel obligated to provide this city a winner.
So, with Ozuna and Hamels on expiring contracts, who is to say the Braves replace that money? Freddie Freeman is set to become a free agent after the 2021 season. Could he be traded this winter?
What about guys signed longterm like Acuna and Albies? Could Liberty trade them to recoup some value?
Please talk me off the ledge, but I fear they could be near the bottom of the league in pay roll next year just because of the pandemic.
What do you think?

I think there's a reason you're a Low A Farmhand.

I can't lend any credibility to your claim.
It seems a bit out in far left field.

I don't think it's hollins but I have some contextual evidence that it might be a person who at least was a member of the old bored from many many years ago.
I mean hollin's ego and sense of self worth was so tied into our message bored that you can never really rule it out, but I dunno.
Really though regarding the topic, is there any shred of evidence out there.... anything in our history... anything at all to support this idea?
I don't think so.

There was a report on the local sports section of the news that the Braves are considering selling part of the development going on, not sure about the details of it. Guess its some of the land and businesses around the battery.
Even with that, cannot see how that would translate to a roster sell off, does not seem to make sense. Even if LM did that, cannot see why they would devalue their team.
So my guess is that the original post is some far off what if thing. Even under the corporate ownership and the rebuild we did not go that far like the Florida Marlins did. They would have also gotten rid of Freddie Freeman and Julio Teheran in addition to what was traded, note Julio was quite highly regarded a few yrs ago.
With everything uncertain with the pandemic I do think it makes real sense for the industry to be very conservative in this off season. We do not even know if the fan exclusion will apply to next yr.
This is a challenging time for the industry. I expect a reasonable conservative decision making this off season for those reasons
