He's knowledgeable and not irritating, although a bit monotone. He talks like a therapist, lol True, but that's kinda what I like about him. Exactly, thank you! I just want these guys to call the game and give me some useful stats here and there. No screaming, hooting, cackling and clowning around, great stuff. I loved listening to Jim Palmer do the color for the Orioles for the same reason, but he didn't make it a big circus and all about him so he never got national attention.

If AA doesn't go out and get a top notch starter, I'm a be really pissed. We're too good to blow the opportunity we have over the next few seasons. We got to win one more AT LEAST.

I agree we have to seize the opportunity while the window is open, but let me ask you if you think he isn't trying? What would you do? What would you offer and for who? How do you know what he would offer and what he tried or did not try? Take Bauer off the table for a minute... NO ONE has been willing to offer him so let's say there's some valid reason he is off the table. I'm 100% with you, but what can we do to secure a top notch starter.. right now? Are you willing to give up one of our core position players from the MLB roster? Do you realize we don't have a strong farm and a ton of chips to deal? Are you willing to give up AJSS and/or Hurston Waldrep? Do you think someone will give up a bonafide top notch MLB starter for a prospect who MAY become a bonafide MLB starter? I'n with you 100% wanting that move, but I honestly don't know what we can do right now outside of Bauer (who 30 teams will not offer). Maybe later in the year when teams are selling, but we really don't have a lot of chips. Plus remember if we give up a top pitcher like AJ or Waldrep, we still have to deal with the impending loss of Fried, and we are already a top 5 payroll team, spending more than the Dodgers on our 26 man roster.

I think it’s crazy to think there’s any chance we can add a #1 or #2 pitcher to this staff this year without giving up way more than we want. My disappointment was that we didn’t make the staff more stable with legit lower risk middle or even backend starters in the off-season, and they were there then. Even a guy like Marco Gonzalez, who we had. He’s been steady over the years and had a great start but he’s got some kind of injury now. All we needed were a few guys who had a history of staying healthy and an ERA around 3.80 to 4.40. That would be a helluva lot better than the AAA crew will give us. With our offense we would have been gold.

When you take Bauer out of the equation, there is no equation. I'm sure he's doing what he can. I just wish we'd stand up and sign him and tell the league to fu ck off.

David O'Brien @dobrienatl · 9h Brian Snitker on #Braves rookie Darius Vines: “He doesn’t give in and changes speeds, moves it around. He always just kind of hangs in there, just keeps pitching. Doesn’t give in. That was really impressive. Very, very impressive outing.”
