Yes financials played a role in Ozuna being held on to. Yes it is also true that Ozuna seems great in the locker room whereas Bauer has a history of conflict beyond the sexual misconduct allegations... that has something to do with the Braves position (and seemingly all of baseball's position as well). I wouldn't however deny that the Braves did turn a blind eye to Ozuna and then later claimed moral righteousness regarding Bauer. Sure there were reasons... there are always reasons that people and organizations come up with to justify their actions. Let's just be honest about what took place. People that advocate for going after Bauer are not changing their moral code for once person and while they didn't for another. I think what most of them are saying is that the Braves need to be consistent and if they didn't draw a moral line with Ozuna, then they shouldn't draw a moral line with Bauer. Especially when one is on video choking a woman and the other has been proven to be a victim of blackmail and false allegations. Those are facts. Personally I would take the risk with Bauer as I imagine he would come in as a pretty contrite and humbled guy. Great teams always seem to have a "lightning rod". The Braves don't. Bauer would be that, just as Joc Pederson was. Not to mention he's a helluva pitcher.

True... plus after all that's gone on, I think the Braves locker room may be more of a positive influence on Bauer than Bauer would be a negative influence on it. Anyway... the only thing that really bothers me is someone who continues to keep holding onto the sexual allegation stuff regarding Bauer. That's been demonstrably proven to be bullshiite. If that enters someone's argument against Bauer, I quit listening. That pretty much breaks it down to getting along and meshing in the locker room. Try it and if he's an issue... then cut him loose. My opinion at least.

Is there not one team that is reaching out to Bauer after allegations are supposedly proven false that this guy was set up? Not a one in this pitcher starved situation around the league? Doesn't pass the smell test...

Manfred had it in for Bauer before all this even started. Bauer has a large “brand” and does videos almost every day, and there was some sort of copyright infringement issue with MLB. I think there were other things as well, and Manfred doesn’t want Bauer back in baseball. And when the godfather speaks, no one goes against him. It’s almost spooky how certain players have been blackballed out of baseball when they could have been productive still. I agreed with ones that were PEDs related, but then I'll also admit maybe blackballing them wasn’t really fair, did it really have to go that far? Several got blackballed after domestic violence. Why didn’t Ozuna or Aroldis Chapman? It’s weird. At any rate, if we had no interest in signing Bauer we should have just said no comment all along instead of acting so self righteous. And Snitkers snide “no” was not a “no comment” in that press conference a few years ago. He should have been professional and gave a straight non condescending answer instead of displaying his smug superiority. Given that we had looked the other way on Ozuna. We got roasted all over the country when Snitker did that, specifically because we had looked the other way on Ozuna. Bauer has given a lot of interviews and he clearly has learned a lot and is and has matured and is a better human being now and deserves another chance, from somebody in MLB. And he was never even charged with anything illegal. Ozuna was charged by the police, then the charges mysteriously were later dropped, as always happens with people who have money. The other factor in my opinion is that there are very few if any choir boys in baseball, or any pro sport for that matter. I would imagine it's pretty normal for the average player to be involved in some crazy sexual shenanigans, as well as all kinds of other non savory behaviors. Especially Joc Pederson.

Doesn't pass the smell test... That's the one thing that gives the Braves argument some backing. No one is signing the guy.
