I fully expect Contreras to hit, and Pache to be an elite defender. Can we somehow combine them and make one really good player out of them? I still believe Pache is going to be at least an average or better MLB hitter. I don't like that he's gone to launch angle mode, but it is what it is. He's hitting some long home runs, but I think he's one of those guys who would be better hitting line drives. This launch angle thing has hurt some guys who would be better hitting line drives and playing more like Rod Carew then Dave Kingman. Its the worst aspect of 21st century baseball. I think it was a Tampa Bay thing that really started the drilling of the launch angle. Other teams have followed. Guys like Otis Nixon for example would not be able to play in todays game. Younger fans do not know what they are missing (for those who care)

Marlins asking for an heir apparent in center as part of a Marte package. In center, Starling Marte would be the obvious target, though it’s unclear how willing the Marlins are to move him within the division — nor is it clear if the Phillies have what Miami GM Kim Ng desires in a return package. For starters, the Marlins are seeking a long-term replacement for Marte in center, per Craig Mish of the Swings and Mishes podcast. That’s going to slow trade discussions, as most teams will balk at moving a younger, cheaper option in center, especially if the Marlins are prioritizing near ML-ready prospects. The Phillies do have some centerfield prospects they could dangle, such as Simon Muzziotti, their 10th-ranked prospect by Fangraphs, Mickey Moniak, their 8th-ranked prospect, or Johan Rojas, their 4th-ranked prospect. Of the three, Muzziotti probably comes closest to starting the conversation for Marte.I Why would the Faillies cough up anything of real long term value for Marte? They're worse than we are in a season where everything went wrong, they have no reason to hurt themselves for a rental. The Marlins can posture all they want, they aren't going to get much with Marte being a rental. Marte is a good player that I'd like to have, but you're not getting much for him other than a lottery ticket and organizational filler.

It amazes me in this day of 10 man bullpens, that we have seen so many position players pitching in games. The excuse, well we are saving the bullpen is just stupid. I know at least 2 times this year I am aware of a team using 2 position players to pitch in a game. This is also coming in a year where doubleheaders are 7 innings and not 9 as well. With this philosophy, maybe the Braves should have resigned Culberson for his arm. Heck, if Charlie was a Cub, he might hit double digits in Relief appearances.
Maybe its just me, but it seems to me that far more innings this year has been pitched by position players then any year in recent memory (No crack here about Ohtani, he is a pitcher in those games)
