It's been a freakin cra/p fest of a season is all I know. And the best part is the worst part hasn't even come yet. We have 68 games left, and after we go about 2-10 in the next two weeks we'll sell and the bottom will really fall out.

Chip Caray just came back on Bally Sports and said it was still raining hard right now, in fact, maybe as hard as it has rained all day. Ugh. I would have for this team to take another L with 3 more at-bats left, down by a run.

That cell just keeps backbuilding. I don't think they'll get this in tonight. And there isn't a fesible option for these two teams to pick it back up if it were to be suspended.
My guess is it gets cancelled and only rescheduled st the end of the season should San Diego need a chance at one more win in a wire to wire division race.

A little surprising this is still maintaining strength tonight. Sometime these cells can derive energy independent of synoptic, mesoscale, and diurnal forcing. Storm-scale/micoscale dynamics such as subtle outflow boundaries may come into play that propagate further storm development which is very difficult to analyze, detect, and predict. The showers just to the west have dissipated but these continue. Unfortunately the ballpark just happens to be in their path tonight. As soon as they seem to be dissipating further development occurs as if they are feeding on the dying cells. The atmosphere is virtually saturated up to 200MB (40,000 feet) so it only takes a bit of isolated storm-scale/micoscale dynamics to squeeze that moisture out. PWATs, i.e. precipitable water, is 2" or a little more over the metro area. Current radar shows continued development but that should begin to weaken considerably over the next hour. This batch of showers has become almost stationary due to weak flow aloft and will most likely eventually dissipate as they gradually drift to the south and east. Could be a late night if they expect to play and they will probably make every attempt IMO. Rainfall has now exceed 1" in the immediate Smyrna area.

74-88 It could be as bad as 70-92 depending on if we got rid Morton and Smyly.

Does it still take 5 innings to make one of these gay little 7 inning games a legit game?

Watching these past games is way more fun than what were putting on the field this year!

The HRRR High Resolution Rapid Refresh Model was picking up on this with the 6 PM run. This model is initialized by 3km grids with 3km radar assimilation and incorporates the latest data. It is very good, not perfect, at identifying potential convective activity, high winds, tornadoes and potential rainfall. Some of those purple areas just north of the 0.2" in Atlanta central were about 0.7" totals. Unfortunately, I was out to dinner... literally not figuratively! LOL
