What do you guys think of Ozuna? Will he even see the field in the second half? I'm sure we will move on from him. I feel pretty sure he's done for this year, his legal proceedings will keep him tied up and won't be finished by the end of the season.
I would love for us to move on from him, but I think it will depend on if he's found guilty or not. If he's not found guilty we would have to give him an awful lot of money to get out of his contract. I would still be in favor of doing that, but then it's not my money!

Yeah... no Ozuna this year...
Hopefully an additional suspension of such length that we can afford to buy out the remainder we would owe.

What if he is not guilty? He wasn't worth 15 cents to us this year anyway, but what if he truly is not guilty?

Kyle Wright taking a beating tonight in Charlotte. Pitched 3 innings, gave up 8 hits and 6 earned runs. This is after his last outing where he pitched 7 innings and gave up just 1 hit.

Hope he invested his signing bonus wisely and took advantage of the free educational opportunity that Vanderbilt provided him.

Yeah they are not giving in, but I still don't know how much of a difference he will make. He had been hitting around .250 with an OPS over .800 since returning from a (wrist?) injury, but I think you almost should be sitting him against lefties. A willingness to sell Ball also indicates they will re-up Freddie long term.

David O'Brien @dobrienatl #Braves got much-needed power bat for their outfield with trade for left-handed hitting Joc Pederson from the Cubs in exchange for power-hitting 1B prospect Bryce Ball, who just turned 23 and was struggling at high-A Rome, with a .207 average, 6 homers, 59 K in 212 PA (.354 OBP) 46 43 319 ________________________________________________
David O'Brien @dobrienat Pederson, a longtime Dodger, has hit .230 with 11 homers and a .718 OPS in his first season with Cubs, w/ 74 strikeouts in 287 PAs.
All 11 of his homers have come in 197 ABs vs. RHPs, while he's hit .271/.348/.339 in 66 PAs vs. LHPs compared to .218/.245/.442 in 221 PAs vs. RHPs 4 2 69
_______________________________________________
David O'Brien @dobrienatl Pederson, who'll play RF, is owed about $2M of his $4.5M salary for rest of 2021, and there's a $10M mutual option for 2022 with a $2.5M buyout, which #Braves are responsible for. Anthopoulos knows him well from Dodgers, said possibility of having him another year was attractive.

I like him a lot as a complimentary piece of a 4 person outfield rotation.. much more than I like him as an every game player you've got to get a lot of production from to make any difference.
