Not everything is as it seems; Losing inside battles can be much harder than losing outside battles: Perception and perspective is key (part 2)
This first part was written on Friday's heart breakerHello and welcome to part two of the X22 Report. Spoil or to be spoiled. Is the sky falling? Is everything in shambles? In the short term many will say yes, as the Braves appeared to be spoiling, only to be spoiled with one strike left to get in the the game. Yes these are tough battles on the outside. It's what you want in a game. What you don't want is those demons to takeover. Battling from behind is what the Braves have done all season. Coming out after a loss can put the weight of the world on your shoulders, or you can overcome and be fearless to what's not really there. The perspective of today's game is you can have 76 wins or 95 wins and be up two games in first place. The difference between these two teams. The 95 win team went up two games and the 76 win team went down a game to two games up. One team can play .500 ball for 2/3rds of season and still be in the hunt for a division title. Go back to 1993 and try to win that battle with the Giants. Baseball has become a very team friendly sport. You get to the playoffs in 5 game series and it's a brand new start.
How spoiled are we right now?
Back to Story TimeOn day 1 March 4th, 2018 Hart's Middle Finger created and joined The New Bored on ProBoards and proceeded to finish the Arc. On day 2 and day 3 the disciples joined. On day 4 they chatted as they were finishing the Arc day 5 March 8th, 2018 The Arc was finished
On day 1 April 4th, 1974 Hank Aaron would hit home run 714 to tie the mighty Babe Ruth. On day 2 and day 3 he would rest. On day 4 Aaron would go for an 0fer and on day 5 April 8th, 1974 Hammerin' Hank Aaron would hit a home run and become the home run king. The fans cheered and two fans would rush the field to praise his accomplishment. The city of Atlanta would rejoice.
As one can see a nice little comparison some odd years and a spring training earlier. How many years to be exact? 2018 - 1974 =
44 years ago.
The bored did rather well in it's first year, and so did the Braves in the same season. Everything was fresh and I was inclined to work hard as the str0ker of minor league tread. Each working hard to show how well a revamped farm would perform. Day after day I gave my all of detailed stats and I was satisfied with the views it brought in. The Bored family would give me encouragement to keep on trucking on. In this time I asked HMF of two things I'd like to see in The New Bored. Change the scary stock avatar, give us a spoiler or something you can hide for a surprise, and last I asked for the separation of the 'live game tread' after they're finished. He did all these things and I was very pleased with how it all turned out. So as the season went on the Braves were in first and Fumbduckery creates the Magic number tread in the first of The New Bored's inception. Let's take a look at the magic # tread.
Magic #'s. 4 consecutive MLB seasons of them.Let's look at the date the first image posted by HMF (and uckery)
Year 1. September 12, 2018. The number was 11 (9/12 added = 21)
Year 4. September 12, 2021. The number is 16 (9/12 added = 21)
Same date so lets add the two numbers up. 11 + 16 = 27
In 2021 #27 Austin Riley has been the Braves MVP leader and is the WAR leader in at 4.8 WAR
Now let's subtract them 16 - 11 = 5
In 2018 # 5 Freddie Freeman was the Braves MVP and was the WAR leader in at 5.5 WAR.
Also in HMF's recent threads on page two on the 16th tread from bottom to top it's titled, 'Riley the Real Deal'. tread created March 6th 2018. Perhaps the first baseball related tread he posted(?)
Runs scored and the amount of games up in the first magic number posted from each season2018 (Sept 12th) W 2 - 1, up 7.5; 11 magic number
2019 (Sept 9th) W 7 - 2, up 9.5; 10 magic number
2020 (Sept 15th) W 5 - 1, up 3.5; 10 magic number
2021 (Sept 12th) W 5 - 3, up 4.5; 16 magic number
2+7+5+5 = 19; 7.5+9.5+3.5+4.5 = 25
19 + 25 =
44First magic numbers added11+10+10+16 = 47 (We're now at 13 that would make 44 if it was the first)
2021 - 47 = 1974. and 47 is the most home runs Hank Aaron had in a single season
199144+47=91 and from there we get a reminder of how close that race was. in 1991. Game 145's for 21' and 91' were both on the same date Septermber 17th. and both games were loses to the Giants in San Francisco. 1991 L 2-3, 2021 L 5-6 (the heart breaker on Friday). In 1991 this loss put the game Braves back a half a game. Two games before this they beat the Dodgers and were up 1.5 games and the game before this they lost to the Giants and were up only half a game. As for 2021 The Braves lose on Saturday in a shutout and were only 1 game up. Then the Braves shut the Giants out on Sunday and the Braves are up 2 games. In 1991 the Braves played 2 with the Padres remained behind half games in two wins. Next up was the Dodger series. They win game 1 going up a half a game and then they lose the next two games. They would be behind 10 consecutive games from the first loss in the Dodger series.
1993What about 1993, the race with the Giants. July 22nd, 1993 The Braves would be the furthest back they have been all season, 10 games back (while remaining in second) From there they would reach first place by themselves on September 11th in game 143 up by 1. Game 145 through game 148 would be 4 consecutive wins and would have 3 walk-offs in the last three games. In this stretch they would see their highest margin of games being up, 4 games up. They would quickly lose that lead and we all know it went down to the final game.
Back to story time.(again) 'The First Annual State of The Bored'2019 Rolls around so does the new season. I was ready to put in another hard season of typing in the minor league stats. Many on the bored were very thankful. And for my thanks to them and HMFchanging The Bored up, upon my requests. I made them a digital art piece. The art piece would be called, "
The First Annual State of The Bored", All the current Bored members at the time would be in the art piece, even the Freddy clones, also including some of the old ones that some how survived the death of The Old Bored.. My mission in the art piece was to draw more fans over from the bigger Atlanta Falcons board, and as a troll this is how I did it. The virtual art piece can be seen in the Welcome tread in this link.
ourbraves.freeforums.net/tread/1/welcome-forum-check-updates-info?page=38While nearing the end of my art creation. I felt something was missing in The New Bored house in lower room, The Hank Aaron 715 photo. There was no member at the time that used this photo. Not until a member who joined July 10th, 2021. On the day this tread was created, on the 88th game of the season, with the 44-44 record, on the day we lose Ronald Acuna Jr., and this member first post was in the best wishes for Acuna. That bored member is from my original post from this tread,. the one and only SuperBrave.
Be prepared to be mesmerized for what I'm about to reveal. I completed and posted fast as I could, 'The First Annual State of The Bored', on the date of May 27th, 2019. And now we take a look at SuperBrave's join date of July 10th, 2021.
In a calendar year, the days after May 27th to July 10th are
44 days. (plug the dates in here
www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.htmlAdd the years and it's 2 years and 44 days. 2 x 44 = 88.
44-44Then the deciphering happened in 2nd post of this tread and SuperBrave's first tread. The audio of the 8/4/1974 game, and look at the last time the Braves were .500 8/4/2021. We look at the amount of days after 4/8 to 8/4 in a calendar year (the numbers 44, 88 there again) and that adds up to
118 days.
The
118th game of the season would be the first time the Braves saw first place by themselves.! Who is SuperBrave!!!!!
{Easter eggs and a few spoilers of the drawing.}
If you clicked this first off I'd suggest reading everything thats not a spoiler. as this is off topic
My first save of 'The First Annual State of The Bored'
Easter Eggs.
I never planned on going as far as I did. I put some things in and it escalated from there. I couldn't stop until I was satisfied.
Why jah hasn't been posting lately
There's a fallen Maple leaf. Did jah fall off the rooftop? To the far left of the rooftop did PABravefan, the weatherman, make the lighting strike jah off? To the far right, Would a little angel PeteOrrisgod push jah off? Did CamarFANgo's fan blow off jah? Did MurphtoBall make the baseball go to the back of jah's head? Would heelsskinbraves as the big lebowski "There's a man, and there's a man" scene knock jah off? Would ladysnowblood the jealous house wife of Tiger Woods stab jah in the back, making jah fall off? Did the Thenightmancommeth alter ego as Braves star Tiger woods find out this hooker is a he and not a she and throw jah off in desperation? Or did jah just get too drunk and fall off by jah's self? Perhaps one day we will find out in the 'Where has jah been lately' tread.
Spoilers
Skippy is flying a banner of the retired number of the Braves that are in the HOF. Last pitofmisery is stil miserable after his westiedog left him for mauibrave. That bulldog wasn't to kind to him either.
Also thats Freeman in the box TV and I was going to put Fulton County on the left of the TV screen, but it looked bad when I shrunk it down. To the right of the TV is the member Turnerfield and Turner and Fulton County are both in the poster.
On to the BIG REVEAL
{The Big Reveal}
What I do know is me and SuperBrave are sharing an avatar of the same Legend. The Hammer; Hammerin' Hank Aaron. Pictures of the man at two different time periods An "old" baseball player who became legendary on that swing, and a legend who would go on and Hammer 40 more home runs. And in my photo an "old" man looking legendary in his wisdom.
Look at Hart's Middle Finger photo. A picture of a blue chair, that many would not get unless they were from The Old Bored. An online joke that he told here after I mentioned it. I knew of it on The Old Bored. and to the best of my knowledge it was about how the second baseman's of that time, Uggla and his replacements around the playoffs (?) were so awful that you might as well put an inanimate object like a blue chair in their spot.
What if I was to say HMF's avatar was not a blue chair(?) . Do chairs even exist?
youtu.be/fXW-QjBsruE(spoiler below*) What if I was to say HMF shared the same avatar as SuperBrave and I. That all three of our photos were of Hank Aaron? Ok, maybe not, but if he were the blue chair he would be a heck of a lot better than what we had at the time at second base. What I'm really getting at is Hart's Middle Finger's avatar, is a representation of Hank Aaron's legendary Major League Baseball career. (spoiler about the video* - it's focal point is about chairs but its a 37 minute video on theories of what exist and ISisms)
As you can see from from this chair, and like most chairs, it has 4 legs. The 4 legs joined with the 4 rails, the legs representing the 4 times he hit 44 home runs in a single season, and the 4 rails represent the 4 other times he hit 40+ home runs in a seaon. The legs with 4 vertical sides. 4 and 4 up front and 4 and 4 in back.. Also the ends of legs touching the floor to the top seat. The top seat a square but also a diamond shape like one leg touching a base and one leg touching the ground.
And in the reveal you see there are 7 red back supports consisting of 2 back posts and 5 slats. And this looks very American doesn't it? You see the 5 slats connected with 4 sided top back. 54. 1954 be his rookie season and the 5 slats being his rookie number, #5. and with his rookie season you see the 7 back supports with 6 spacings between. Like the American flag and it's first 13 state, this 13 represents the Hank Aaron's 13 home runs as a rookie, simultaneously representing 1976, his final season.
And with the 7 red vertical back supports and the 4 vertical legs. you get 74. 1974 being the season he broke Babe Ruth's home run record of 714 home runs by reaching 715 milestone home run.. With combining all the red vertical supports you get 11, and when you divide 715/ 11 = 65. 1965 being middle of Aaron's career. And on the vertical supports, you can have 65 diamonds/stars on each of them, representing the 715 home runs.
And as with more concepts Hank it 40 more home runs and that can be represented by 10 stars on front, back, and two side rails. or have 5 on the rails and 5 vertical end of the seats. Also I made the top back like a ball cap and the seat like a jersey. The concept of being able to flip the seat like a home or away jersey would be cool.. My last concept would be the underside of the seat since it's a diamond. making it look like the infield and base paths and on the bases and plate having milestone homer runs or something to effect of 13 HR at first 378 HR at 2nd 715 at third and 755 at home.
To finish this off, what does it take to make a chair? Like Hank Aaron's it took plenty of wood, plenty of grinding, plenty of hamerin', priming, and painting. And there is always someone else ready to dust it off.
As this episode of the X22 Report ends. Everything can be about perception and perspective. Like the chair. The 91' and 93' Braves went through plenty of tougher battles compared to where we are at right now. However this season ends, there will be plenty of takes on it. I was pretty much done with the season from the beginning because of politics and something just wasn't right with the lack of hitting. I saw the Braves were 44-44 and then I looked up the game on MLB website and saw Acuna got injured. How are you supposed to take that? I made this tread in a way for missing lost time. I'm going back through the season by looking up stats. It wasn't until the game after .500 where I said if Riley hit's a home run here we might have a chance to win the division. I had a short talk about the Braves with my dad earlier that day and something clicked my interest where I turned on the radio to listen to the game, and low behold it was a great game. I tinker with the numbers the former #22 give me, and it's a bit crazy how I get so many 44's..
