Following this one on gamecast. The broadcast was putting me to sleep. The radio ain't bad Gamecast is cool too You're right. I was thinking a few innings ago that Caray & Francouer are just plain boring. I detest MLB not allowing the announcers at away games. So stupid. They may have something to do with it.

Free isn't looking healthy, why are they leaving him in the game? He's eating a banana......

This offense is so bad tonight I'm speechless. Can't think of single thing to post that hasn't already been said.

Well, Luke was sharp and Anderson, while he struggled some found a way to keep them in the game without his best stuff
Anderson's got the right mindset, I see him as a guy who does not beat himself when things are not going perfect
The Antithesis of Folty - man I am glad we do not have to put up with that BUM anymore he was one of my least favorite Braves of all time

Anybody else think Anderson throws too many pitches? I mean he's almost pitched a whole game and he's not out of the 5th inning. It seems like his pitch count is always high this year and early in the games, but I'm old and not a stat guy. Is it nibbling, a tad wild, or just the way he's always pitched? Yes, and he gets to 0-2 and finds a way to lose too many hitters The nibbling is a problem that we have had organization wide. Anderson is just better than some of most of the other guys who have stunk up the joint as young pitchers I don't know if its coaching or what but too many times this has been the thing with these pirchers we have developed I think its an entire league issue. Outside of the elite, I notice this all over, eventhough The BRaves young pitchers do seem to all do it. I wonder how much of a factor that Contreras is not a ML catcher, and Smith has been with the team for 3 weeks plays into this. A veteran catcher (i.e. D-Arnaud) might be able to give him that last bit of confidence that his stuff is good enough to be over the plate, or a better pitch selection on 0-2. From what I have been able to see, it seems the 0-2 and 1-2 pitches are mostly non-competitive to where no one will swing at it.

Flowers had some detractors but one thing you could say about both of them as catchers. They knew what they were doing with the pitchers and they sure could frame pitches. That is a bigger loss than we think of that does not show in the standing As for Contreras, he just was not ready just like Pache. Smith, he is a journeyman. I have said we miss Travis more than we discuss. Perish the thought of losing him in FA this off season

Folty is 2-8 with a 5.17 ERA, 94 innings in 17 starts, with 21 BB vs 67 Ks. So He isn't doing well, but not absolutely terrible. Averaging 5 and 2/3 innings per start, and eventhough his Ks are down, He is only walking 1 per 4.5 innings (Here he would walk 1 out of 5 batters). The former pitcher doing well for them is Kolby Allard. Allard is 3.45 ERA, 57 innings, 58 Ks, 13 BB. He has made 7 starts and seem to be consistently 6 innings 2-3 ERAs.
