I like the Braves chances in this one - Eduardo Rodriguez has been hit hard as of late, real hard. Total ERA 6.03.
Braves have a good chance to make their run back to .500 for this series.
That is a heck of an offense though but for this game put the rent $$$$$ on the Braves

AA once again claims the team will have financial flexibility at the trade deadline.

Cool..........maybe we can acquire another has-been-or-never-was reliever! I'm sick of AA and his doublespeak. He should go into politics.

I think we can count on not paying wife beater the rest of this season so that’s a significant pile we can use for this year.

The Braves cannot afford to have another quiet trade deadline Nobody knows what the Braves will look like as a team in July; with Marcell Ozuna gone indefinitely, Atlanta has struggled to produce runs. The bullpen has been a massive issue, and the losses of Mark Melancon and Darren O’Day have proven detrimental. The Braves will undoubtedly have to add another bat and some bullpen pieces if they want to get back to being a playoff contender. Unless something major changes and the team as a whole gets hot, the Braves are going to have to buy if they’re in the thick of the NL East race. With Atlanta currently sitting five games back of the NL East lead, they still only have two fewer wins than the Mets and Phillies, who are ahead of them in the standings. Perhaps the Braves will be out of contention by then, but there is cause for hope. Yesterday it was reported, Mike Soroka, Huascar Ynoa, and Travis d’Arnaud are all expected to return in August. That is a massive influx of talent, especially considering how well Ynoa was playing in 2021. Travis d’Arnaud was a man possessed during the 2020 postseason, and Mike Soroka is an ace when healthy. The moves that the team made during the 2020 deadline did nothing to move the needle. The Robbie Erlin experiment was a massive failure, but it pales compared to the massive disappointment that Tommy Milone was for the team. Robbie Erlin in 2020 (ATL): 5 starts, 23.1 IP, 28 H, 22 ER, 8 HR Tommy Milone in 2020 (ATL): 3 starts, 9.2 IP, 22 H, 16 ER, 4 HR At least Erlin was acquired off waivers; Milone was actually part of a trade. With Cole Hamels providing the Braves with nothing, Atlanta was short-handed in the postseason — dooming them against the Dodgers. While the lack of a deal for Mike Clevinger looks good in hindsight as he had Tommy John surgery, the Braves cannot make the same bargain-bin moves they did last July. Drew Smyly’s signing was a similar pickup, and it has been a disaster. Charlie Morton has been better, but not great. If the Braves are in contention, they have to make an impact move for some facet of the team. www.sportstalkatl.com/the-braves-cannot-afford-to-have-another-quiet-trade-deadline/?fbclid=IwAR1ssCRGR50kTrJmJYOHxjlXcK_d8-M9fquYQ4O4KDjSGSUaBiKntfgR_TQ

The Robbie Erlin and Tommy Milone fiascos make Drew Smyly actually look fairly good. Smyly has had a few quality starts and 3 wins for us.
Of course that is not saying much.
As for Morton, I would rate that sign as a C- taking into consideration how much was paid. Had it been say 10 mil instead of 15, would call it a C.
Smyly, I rate that a D. Not F cause of a few quality games but D is a fair grade.
Alex needs to acquire a bat of some kind to replace the unmentionable player. And he probably has to give up something we would prefer he does not give up if you get someone of any quality.
Mitch Haniger would look good do not know what it would take to get him. I would offer two prospects - Kyle Wright is the first prospect of note I would offer if another team would be interested in him. It would take more than that to get Haniger I think
Like it or not, Wright's value has gone down, down, down - I would move him over Bryse Wilson or Tucker Davidson.

UCL tear for Glasnow. That's an out-for-the-year injury, I assume. That hurts the Rays.

Welp... See, you can't lose games like the last game Davidson started. He's a rook... he's not going to do that every time out. After 3 good starts, the guy is due for a not so great outing.
