This is the kind of Will Smith we need. He avoids the walks and HRS he can be quite good, he was a pretty good pitcher with other teams
Has even been good at times this yr - anyway being 3 under .500, now we can make our run at .500 again.
Next up is a Red Sox team that has been struggling with their pitching as of late. Things have to be bad when you have the likes of Ryan Weber on your roster - yes he resurfaced up there again and gave up 11 runs today.
Of course once we get to .500, well, that is another story

yup wasnt even running half speed. Yep, he was not running. Nonsense like that will get you beat. I guess just another one of those baseball basics we screw up daily.

Fried has a 4.68 era. 2nd worst in the rotation. He has not been vintage Max but he got off to such a crazy bad start I think it was up around 9 after his first 3 starts. Still think he will be better and it did qualify for a QS last night. Got to limit the homers though. And as I type Ender HRS. We'll take it Fried's ERA over his last 7 starts is 2.76 and that's with a bad outing against Washington where he gave up 4 runs in 3.2 innings.
He's had 5 outings during that run where he gave one earned run in each game.

What a series Marte had, displaying all 5 tools at the age of 32.
He was always the play over Ozuna, it's really a shame we don't have him instead of the wife beater. I've been on his bandwagon for years, I'd love to see us get out of Ozuna's contract and sign Marte.

Time to end the Adrianza experiment.
His OPS for May and June is right at .600 or maybe even under.
It was a nice story when he earned a shot in spring training, he's regressed back to his norm.
At this point Arcia should be up with the big club in the backup infielder role.

WE WON A GAME!!!
YABBADABBADOO!!! It doesn't matter. We are still what, 6 back and that's with the Mutts having about 6 games in hand as well. Realistically we are about 9 or 10 back with them playing well, and us... playing.

Keeps slim unrealistic hopes alive I guess.

You can't win two in a row, or three, or six, until you win the first one!
And we have a 4 game series against the Cardinals next weekend, that's 4 games we need to win while chopping our arms off!

Of course once we get to .500, well, that is another story Tucker Davidson on the bump for the Braves against the Sox on Tuesday. Davidson has a 1.53 ERA in three outings (17 2/3 innings) giving up 3 runs and striking out 14. Hope the kid can get his first W since he was denied last time out.

Good to see the Braves end the losing streak but just can't keep doing this. Must get to .500 and above to get excited again though. Just saw the Cubs are 10 games over .500. They sure didn't look good to me when we played them (Braves won 2 of 3 and 3 of 4) so if they can turn it around so can we.

Algorithm dictates they win the next 2. Send me that algorithm. I'll make a few tweaks! My programming skills are pretty rusty though. I might wind up making it worse! LOL Of course the Braves have so many problems it would probably take me the rest of the year to figure it out!
An easier solution is to just play BETTER baseball!!!
