That Smyly is still in this starting rotation is an outrage. Just find a way to move some of that contract and let Bryse Wilson get experience for better or worse.
Now that is on your manager or, is it on the GM that made that bad sign. Fair question heh?
Tucker Davidson and Wilson need to be pitching and we can see what we really have. Davidson is getting a chance and we have to like what we see.

Waters and Demeritte did not play for Gwinnett Saturday night, no idea if it's just routine time off.
Pache is 8 for 24 since coming back with 3 doubles and 2 HRs, one of the homers the other night was an absolute bomb. It almost hit a car in a parking lot way back behind the left centerfield wall. He's only playing every other day or every third day so they must be nursing him back slow with his injury. Pinch hit Saturday night and walked. It's funny that he's hitting with power but apparently there's still concern about his injury.

Guess you cannot just release 5/8 of $11 million. Milone was actually even worse - we have gotten what, 3 decent games from Smyly? But Milone was an easy release I do not remember what he was making. If they are 10 games out in late July I think he will be gone somehow, preferably another team will see some redeeming quality in him. Maybe they will like the spin rate or whatever and are real desparate for a pitcher they do not have to give up much for. Let Bryse in there and give him a chance. What has people riled up about Smyly was that 11 mil was a ridiculous price tag for a veteran who has so little back of the baseball card accomplishment. Obviously somebody in the baseball establishment likes him cause he has made a career of getting paid well being mostly ineffective or on the injured list. I think another dumb team picks him up and pays him the rest of the yr we do not eat any of the $$$$.

I think it makes sense to go slow on Pache and nurse him back to health slowly for now. We all hope he is right and plays up to the talent when he gets his second chance - we need him to be good - hope it will be sometime later this season

I think another dumb team picks him up and pays him the rest of the yr we do not eat any of the $$$$. I totally agree. With this pen and the way this team has been hitting I think it's foolish to keep running Smyly out there. I say go with Fried, Anderson, Davidson and Wilson with Morton. If they can get Ynoa back see if he can get up to speed. Then next season if they can somehow get Soroka back they can go into the season with a semi-stable rotation and AA won't have to go fishing for these one-year veteran rentals. Of course they are going to have to address the bull pen in the off season...it's not going to be an easy fix. When Luke Jackson is your most reliable reliever, you've got issues. They might have to drop some significant cash to fix that.

The Braves, Marlins & Rangers are the only MLB teams to not have a winning record at any point this season

Fried has a 4.68 era. 2nd worst in the rotation.
