The losing has gone from suprising to expected, and from infuriating to comical. I was fooled into thinking that the Dodgers series was finally the turning point. In the words of Peter Townsend, I won't get fooled again.

One of the mistakes made this off season was handing the keys to Christian Pache who to this point was not ready. He is doing well in Gwinnett at last check and my thinking is when he gets his next chance he will be much much better Also we have the good catching prospect in Langliers, hope he will not be rushed Plenty of money coming off the books this off season. Start with Morton, Smyly and Ender - the unmentionable player is up in the air (would it be nice to be free and clear of that) And of course we do not know where the Freeman thing will go. I will guess they will ride with Dansby for a fair reasonable deal cause I don't think they could pick up anyone better and will not go nuts bidding for one of the stud SS's in FA. You want better than Dansby we will have to develop one. AA is a better GM than he was this past off season. On Snitker, might just ride it out for the rest of this yr and make a move in the off season.

In the words of Peter Townsend, I won't get fooled again. I did get fooled but once they lost those two games in the way they did to Philly, this is going to have a good week or two effect. They should have come into this series two over .500 instead of two under. Winning and losing can become a habit and collectively to me they are beating themselves as a group. Not quitting - not at all but beating themselves one way or another. One day its one thing the next day its another. Just not to be this yr

At this point apathy is the best thing to do. If they play well(unlikely), great. If they lose, they lose so be it.
It's become too draining to invest much more in em this season.

One word:
CLOSED DOOR MEETING.
Players only.
Time for these guys to get it out in the air and fix it, whatever it is that's making them show up 4-5 days a week looking like the ballpark is the last place they want to be.
Losing is one thing. Complacency is a whole different problem.
Fix it a-holes, you're a) professionals and b) making too much money to just continue this as things are.
We clearly have weaknesses, but not giving a fark does nothing but exacerbate the problem.

“There’s a bathroom on the right.”
Good thing, cause the Braves are playing like crap.

I am not sure it's in them. "The Braves Way" is the problem. They eschew loud vocal players, and emotion in general. Their manager is Mr. Mild Mannered who only speaks up when his players get a little loud and excited. Freeman is a quiet guy who prefers to lead by example... Acuña isn't in the position to be a team leader.. Him and Ozzie are just big kids. Remember how much they loved Markakis as a leader because he never opened his mouth and just led by being a professional singles and doubles hitter. The pitchers are just mostly kids and Morton and Smyly haven't done anything to warrant being a team leader anyone would listen to. Donaldson was the last guy we had that brought any swagger and attitude. I can't think of a single guy on this roster as that guy to step up and lead a players only meeting.

Look, I don't know what Freeman does in the clubhouse, but my guess is that he's not taking charge like he should in there. This is his team. He needs to take charge and raise hell. Don't tell me he doesn't have it in him. We all have it in us. Some of us just have to dig a little deeper to find it is all. It's time for Freddie to dig.

Can you really expect a guy to take charge when its just not his personality.
How can you expect a guy like Freddie Freeman (great player & great guy and I am sure teammate) to be the take charge guy when he is smiling and giving pats on the back and attaboys to opposing players.
There is not the snark in this guy to be that holler guy to point out what is wrong in a players only meeting as I see it
And as was previously said, the manager is a great guy but Mister Mild Manners. Of course this charmin soft cusion media loves him and I am sure he is a very likable guy to deal with.
Donaldson was not really around long enough. Chipper and Smoltz were the last leaders on the team truth be told.
Go back in the day and one true vocal louder leader we had was in the days of David Justice and Deion Sanders and we saw how Mr Scheurholz dealt with them. Trade.
Once this becomes Acuna and Ozzie's team and I think it will as early as next yr that "Braves Way" just might change. We might see a more vocal emotional team - Just my .02.
I also think we will have a more vocal manager next yr. Assuming this does not turn around

Donaldson was the last guy we had that brought any swagger and attitude. I can't think of a single guy on this roster as that guy to step up and lead a players only meeting. Acuna would be my guy. I agree other than that nobody. But I see passion in Acuna and I could see him speaking up. He's really become the leader of the team I think. You're right about the passive calmness being the Braves Way and therefore Freddie would be considered the leader, but he's one of the mooks walking around looking like his dog just died. I don't like their body language and the looks on their faces, and lack of fire. Except for Acuna. Let him light a fire under everybody, even the damned manager. That's why the coaches aren't allowed in the meeting. Maybe they wouldn't win any more, but it would be easier to watch if you could see some kind of fire and desire to win.
And again I still see Chipper as an option as interim manager at least for the rest of the year. He has the fire to wake some people up. I think the organization and it looking so bad means more to him than his friendship with Freddie. Freddie really still is his student too.
I don't think the players maybe realize that us fans have taken a real hit in the last 8-10 months, having the chop taken away, having to live with the Cardinals big first inning on our playoff elimination game, then we lost the All Star game, then Ozuna......this after wo got the Coppy/Hart punishments. The players can just go out and collect their paychecks but it's not that easy for the fans. At least give us the appearance that you care.

I agree about Acuña...
..one day.
Right now though, I still think he lacks the maturity. Plus he has elder statesman Freeman looming over him and Daddy Snit standing ready to wag his finger at him every time he gets fired up.
