I do not see any value in Wright and Shewmake so if we get a rental for them that is fine and dandy with me ... and with that comment you have proven my point.

Once we get around to trying to think about actually playing another baseball game again......it's just great that we're facing the Marlins now, the team that loves to bean the living hell out of Acuna. Urethra was the worst, and thank god he's moved on, but the Marlins will still likely hit him several times in this series, like always. If he ends up injured we could end up fighting these queefs for last place by the end of the season. We're not going to brawl, which really pisses me off because I really want to see somebody punch Mattingly is his bitchy little face.
Go Barves!

How many of you really care enough to try to salvage this season to maybe give up some prospect talent to get something that can help right now. Do any of you really believe that the Amonte/Heredia mix and match is sufficient What would you be willing to give up to get a Haniger or a Marte? As for prospects, you can't keep them all. And some do not make a difference. Or, just hope for the best for right now and plan for next year and after. I do not get why anyone would still be high on Wrght, Shewmake, not alot of work in AA ball so maybe more patience is needed there But Wright after what we have seen, my biggest guess is the MLB moment is too big for him Anyway, maybe we can do some good things vs Miami. We could be teased with .500 again as has gone on all yr. Right now? We need relievers that can get outs late in baseball games...........period. As far as outfielders, Haniger is controlled through '22. His trade value is higher than Marte's. Give up on Shewmake now? Seriously? He's barely played professionally. Wright has struggled, for sure, but again, you're greatly underestimating his value. The Marlins don't seem to have any plans for Marte, so they'd jump at the chance to get Wright for him straight up. Haniger is a different story. He would help the Braves more in the long run, and I'd like to have him. I'd probably consider Wright or Shewmake in a deal for him, but not both.

Facing the Marlins given their history trying to cheap shot Acuna is a concern. Seems like the commissioner's office does not give a dam about it but if it were another team other than the Braves would they give Mattingly and the applicable parties at least a warning. If we fought back this commissioner would probably come down heavy handed on us, but like you and others on this board I would like to see some pushback and fight by us. Enough is enough. I do think Rob Manfred has it in for Atlanta and the Braves. His actions have spoken for itself.

I do not think that only Wright or Shewmake would get you Haniger. I did say in the other post I might slow it down on dumping Shewmake now, Wright of course a different story. Wright did have value a couple of yrs ago but now, my guess its gone way down. And he is not a kid anymore he is 26 on Oct 2nd. If I could get Haniger for Wright and something else that is not a top prospect and maybe throw in Newcomb hey, I will jump on that We do need our relievers to pitch up to their ability. I don't know why its been so badly inconsistent the pen has cost us a good 6 or 7 games in the standing this yr. There are guys who have ability not pitching up to proper standard. I do not know if or it can be fixed as we know it and who available who can help

Marte just said recently he’d prefer to stay in Miami, for whatever that’s worth. The Marlins would be crazy not to trade him at the deadline, then they can re-sign him after the season. If he wants to stay there.
On one hand I'd kind of like to have him this year and then either 2 or 3 more seasons, but if he can sign with the Marlins for 4 or 5 years he'd probably rather do that. I would imagine he won't want to sign for less than 4 years anywhere unless he has no choice, this will pretty much be his last sizeable contract. He's pretty much destroying his trade value by saying that.
