What's it take to get Bryan Reynolds from Pittsburgh?
Waters, Wright, and a mid-grade? Do you do it?

He isn't a Free Agent for 4 years, not even arbitration eligible till next year, and he is 26 I believe. They are going to want at least 1 youngmajor league player, and 2 of Top 5 prospect, along with an additional prospects IF they are willing to trade him. Eventhough they are in a major rebuild, when you control a good young player at a rookie contract for that long, you dont want to get rid of him due to you need someone to seel the seats for revenue.

So what's your thought then for a young ML player? Pache instead of Waters? Muller or Ynoa instead of Wright?

The Braves Minor League took a hit with not only the calling up of Riley, Albies and Acuna, but the international signing penalty that they receive from the previous GM's misconduct. I think to get a Reynolds, probably at best look at Muller, Davidson, Waters, Langoliers and 2 Other low Level Prospect, Maybe instead of Davidson, they can send Inciarte because his contract expires at the end of the season.

Is there anyone in Mississippi or Gwinnett who can play serviceable shortstop and hit somewhat decently? Mr. Perfect Hair just ain't it and needs to be down in Gwinnett. Hes not a FA unfortunately until 2023.

Arcia was the SS at Gwinnett and he is on the roster but it looks like they are trying to make him the answer for LF. The only other player on the Gwinnett roster who is capable of playing SS is Camargo. So, basically, its a while to have someone if you are looking at the minor leagues.

It's basically a waste of our time to even think about it anyway, I have a feeling the Braves are quite content with Dansby and plan to extend him somewhere between 3-5 more years. I would gander a guess that the SS position is never even discussed within the organization aside from making sure we have a backup if Dansby gets hurt.

Tomahawk Take posted an article saying we should go after a year and a half of Joey Gallo for Pache and De La Cruz

I honestly think this season is done for the Braves. I would just play out the string and look to next year. Unless someone at the trade deadline drops a deal in your lap for a player you need with years of contract control I would definitely be a seller rather than a buyer.
That said, here are some thoughts on off season needs/moves:
Resign Freddie Resign D'Arnaud...get rid of Kevan Smith and find a backup catcher Get out of Ozuna's contract if at all possible. Find a bat to replace him. Get rid of Ender and the Panda Keep Heredia and Arcia as a bench piece Try to find someone better than Adrianza and Almonte if possible. Take a long hard look at the shortstop position and address it if possible.
Keep Charlie Get rid of Smyly Hope to put to together a rotation from: Fried Anderson Muller Ynoa Wright Davidson Wilson
I really don't know what you do with the bullpen. I know it's not feasible to get rid of them all and start over, but there really isn't an arm out there that I would point to and say...I definitely want him back. I would say goodbye to Newcomb and Tomlin for sure...probably Shane Greene as well Minter, Martin, Jackson, Matzek...? Geez and they need to find a legit closer...Smith might work as a set up guy...but he is not a closer. The bullpen is by far the hardest fix for this team right now. If AA can dump some payroll he might get lucky and find some guys in FA that could help.

Bullpen pieces are available every year. We just chose not to get any of them this past off season and counted to heavily on a bunch of left handers we already have... which even if decent severely limited our options. If you think about it, we had nothing but hot garbage from the right side outside of Luke and ended up overusing our left handers and using them in ill fitting situations.

Martin unless we could re-sign him at about 1/3 of what we are paying him now. Santana unless he just becomes lights out the rest of the year. Hang on to Luke and Webb and see what they do the rest of the year. You get Smyly's money back and use it for the pen as well as the money you save with Martin. For that $ you can probably find at least 2 if not 3 right handed pen pieces that you know automatically make the team. Too many variables to know.... Probably stuck with Smith with his contract. Matzek and Minter can contribute... The main thing is finding at least 2 really solid right handers.

Cristian Pache went 0-for-4 tonight for Triple-A Gwinnett and is now batting .204 with a .612 OPS, 2 HR, 1 stolen base, 33 strikeouts and 8 walks in 95 plate appearances (25 games). Last year's lack of minor league ball seems to have quite negatively impacted Pache. At this rate I dont think he will be a sure thing for 2022.... Might actually have to make a trade/signing in the off season.

He is worth working with at the bat but if teams insist on Pache for a proven bat guess you have to give up something to get something

The only one I disagree with is Wright whom I would like to see out of here ASAP, I hope he still has enough value to be part of a package but how to other teams value him. As for Smyly, I am on the fence with him but no way do I pay him what he was paid this yr. Perhaps we have enough in the system to replace his innings, after that ghastly start he has been fairly good. Perhaps Smyly and Smith could be deadline trade pieces - could another team overpay for them and give up better prospects than we expect? I would sell some pieces if someone might overpay you can always ask. Hey, add Wright to the package I just hate him. Only as a player of course.
