Of course not.
They just go by what the people on TV tell them to think and say.

Overtly political comments that go beyond whether or not baseball should be making this move may be moderated. I will allow some leeway since MLB decided to step into the political ring, but don't get out of hand running off on completely political tangents. Thanks. I have a question. Not to be a smart azz, but why does this matter? Because there are people here who don't want to see politics on this board and don't like what it leads to. They only want to talk about the Braves and the games, and when anything questionable starts to drive people away from the board, I will step in. I have poured a lot into this board, trying to keep a group of people together that have been together for a long time.. some of us well over a decade. I have done this for very little reward, but a fair amount of effort with some people who can be difficult to deal with at times, but I deal with them because activity makes the site viable. I don't even prevent what people want to talk about, I just have designated areas where certain things should be discussed. Right or wrong... I don't know. There isn't really an official a rule book to go by, but I've done the best I can do.

The amount of people who formulate their opinion based on sound-bites, FaceBook memes, and ignorant comments from ignorant people who happen to have a soapbox is astounding.

Social media has emboldened idiots by making them feel like they’re informed. It’s dangerous.......not to mention the fact that I personally have a very low tolerance for ignorance and stupidity. MLB is proving that as an organization it is just as ignorant and stupid. The irony to me is that they’re alienating their customer base to show support for people who don’t know a sacrifice fly from a pop up. It is both annoying and offensive to me. PS- Thanks for the explanation HMF.

I think this is going to end up being a really bad decision for baseball. Epic bad. Making an asinine move that will alienate likely more than half their fanbase, without understanding the bill, to appease a very small whiny vocal minority that only cares about finding a way to constantly make themselves out to be victims. Of anything and everything.

You know there are a lot of conservative players in baseball. Times like now are when somebody needs to start speaking up and calling B.S.instead of being a bunch of Drew Brees pansies.
And being conservative isn’t even required to see that bill is not voter suppression.

MLB is counting on the fact that most people will scream they won't support MLB any longer but will continue to watch their team play.... which is still supporting MLB.

I guessing that since MLB is so against having voting restrictions and the need for voters to identify themselves that we will see unlimited voting with no online restrictions for the participants of its All Star Game, as well as no need for fans to show any kind of proof to enter the game and its related events. Cool.

Well even saying voting "restrictions" is a bit misleading. The law actually expanded some voting criteria to increase access... it just also made ID instead of the subjective signature matching a requirement.
... but yes.. I fully expect baseball to now drop all ID requirements for ticket pickup and in stadium alcohol purchases. I also propose ticket drop off baskets which means you let me into the game today and I can come back up to 3 days after the game is finished and drop off my ticket.

Yeah, I meant to put that word in quotations like you did. I’d call them checks and balances. But you got my point.

I wasn't even thinking about you using the word in your post... I just find it funny that all throughout the media they always use negative words to describe the things they don't like.
I mean they could just as easily be referred to as "Voter confirmation laws".

Personally I couldn't use words like "voter restriction" without first reading through the bill myself, but I still have something that left the journalistic world many years ago--integrity

There isn't really an official a rule book to go by, but I've done the best I can do. Hey, doing your best is all you can do. But yea, truth be told is that MLB did succumb to the bullies in the WOKE crowd and in part its because the WOKE media and the entertainment industrial complex have the big fourm and voice in this USA culture as we know it in the 21st century. And they do bully facts or non facts. Read the bill? Come on, that would actually take some time and logic. I guess showing an ID is too much for some this day in time. I am not posting that much cause I said, my emotion for sports is worn out. I will watch the games some, but just no longer have the passion I once had. Guess game 7 of the NLCS and good ole Tom Brady being a Buccaneer just took it out of me but I do wish the Braves well. That game 7 of the 2019 stanley cup took some enthusasim from me too. The NBA, I could care less. As for the All Star games, who cares but I am disappointed that the good folks who are the ushers, hawk peanuts, beer, etc and the business surrounding the thing will get hurt by this. This is why I do not believe in boycotts. I do want to abide by your guidelines in not being too political but I do feel ecomomic boycotts suck they hurt those doing the grunt work. And they do hurt those hard working people of all races color and creed.

Another thought I have is that that entertainment industrial complex (as I call it) has as much if not more $#%( bully power than the drive by media - especially with the under 35 crowd.
I am fed up with nearly all of entertainment as we know it today, many no talents around this day in time from J Lo to Eminem to what you call bully hateful late night TV. Maybe this thought should be in another tread or place, but these entertainment people do their bully pulpit to influence sports too. Not as much in baseball but mostly the NFL and NBA.
