Who has the problem keeping sports and politics separated?
Not people in this forum.
Kiss my ass, baseball.

I'm really sick of this crap. If it weren't for the irreparable damage it would do to the country, I'd say to let them have their communism so they could see where they are in 10-20 years. They're all too damn uneducated to understand what happened in Georgia and several other states, or to understand that the legislature is where the responsibility for free and fair elections resides. Europe tried this mail in crap. It results in massive fraud. I realize the players are uneducated and don't know any of that, but one would think that their leaders would.

Legislature? wat? I thought everything is decided by executive order.
I feel really bad about talking about politics again in the baseball forum, but damn.
If baseball is going to get THIS political, especially over something that is mere opinion, then I'm not going to sit back and shut up about it.
And I'll apologize in advance, but this doesn't belong in JUST the political forum, and not at this point.
It's time for people to stand up and and speak up and stop this stupid sh*t.

My problem isn't that the point shouldn't be arguable, it's fair game for anyone on either side to give their opinion, but you don't go moving a damned pro league All Star game to another state simply because you have a certain political opinion about a political topic. That's where the stupid sh*t has to end.
Think about how out of hand things would get if we all approached everything this way.
Good grief.

It's Marxism, plain and simple. It destroys everything it touches. It also proves that a large portion of the general population is stupid as hell. They'll all be looking around one day wondering what happened when all the money dries up.

This is ridiculous, but I am to the point now that I just say whatever and move on.
Just another reason for me not to care about the all star game.
I don't care that the tread has a political lean, but just keep it related to why the sport is wrong for making political decisions like this and don't launch into tirades about Democrats/Republicans or the current administration.
This is really about the baseball union being stupid for reacting to political situations. Keep it in that lane.

Let's just keep this tread talking about how stupid it is for the MLBPA to try and join in on cancel culture driven by politics. That is the issue. What happened with the prior election and opinions about that should be avoided here. MLBPA and MLB in general needs to be careful. If they become hellbent on making decisions based on lawful political decisions made in in individual states, they will just further alienate their fan base.

I’ve read discussions on this topic on other non Braves biased sites, and people are not happy about it. Not a good time for baseball to do something like this.

That exacerbates the problem. Walking away may be my only real option as doing something about it, but they’re making that easier all the time. Already did that with basketball, football and NASCAR, so I don’t need to be pushed much farther. Hockey has done a commendable job not going overboard.

A lot of people have grown tired of cancel/culture and tying every aspect of living to political opinion. If individual players have an issue about where the AS game is played, then let them choose to sit out. The collective players union however has no business even thinking about this.

Things have changed so much it's insane. We used to be able to have best friends, family members, co-workers who we disagreed with on all kinds of stuff, and we all got along just fine. We could even joke about anything. It's a matter of keeping life in perspective. You could even talk about anything openly, and even if you had arguments, when it was over there were no lasting hard feelings. Often times it was therapeutic for everybody to talk about things, even if no one changed their opinion. Now you're supposed to walk around on eggshells, and we can't say anything. If you do you're going to offend SOMEBODY somewhere. To hell with that. I have a step daughter who is full blooded Cuban, and she's always had a level head. We were talking on the phone two weeks ago and I mentioned that I had a crew of Cubans building us a new deck, and she got all pissy and wanted to know why I specified they were Cuban. Are you effing kidding me? She knows I'm not prejudice against anybody of any color or race, she knows I loved her and her mom, and I always made it really clear that I loved all my experiences with Cubans, so what the hell? I don't take that B.S. from anybody, I laid into her and she apologized, and she couldn't even explain why she thought it bothered her in the beginning. Good grief. I was happy as heck to find that crew, they were the most qualified, had the best reputation online, perfectly professional the whole time, fair price, great work, but I mention they're Cubans and somehow I'm an ass for it. The less contact I can have with the human race, the better. Buttholes.

Saying whatever is what led to this mess we have today.

People go there and think they’re informed. My old man, who would be 89 were he alive today, said many years ago that computers would be our downfall, and he was probably right, he just didn’t know that he was talking about Facebook and Twitter.

Well y'all keep beating your chests about it, but it accomplishes nothing. It's just become so laughable to me that is what I do... I laugh about it, and then I don't spend a great deal of time caring any longer.
I've walked away from a lot of things because my no longer caring means I no longer care for what the sport or thing has become. I wouldn't however say that what I do exacerbates jack crap. That's about where I am with baseball if they continue this political statement stuff.
