This is a strange tread. Just last year, I was reading posts about how Maitan was a sure fire first ballot hall of famer. Odd. Same can be said for Dominic brown a few years ago, how’s that working out?

I hate to say it because he's just a kid and none of this was his fault really. But I hope he is a bust so losing him wont hurt as bad as it did. The Braves deserved it but still, i cant help but feel a bit salty about it. Maybe a bust is too harsh, but hope he wont be the 2nd coming of Cabrera like some hyped him to be. No we didn't deserve it. Every team in baseball was doing the same thing. Adolf Manfred decided to make an example out of us for something he knew was going on. Basically the same as Selig with steroids. "There are no backdoor deals going on in South America!(wink,wink)..oh you have proof?...can I see that list?" (oh god they got me what am I gonna do? I can't hammer the big market teams their owners have too much power and know I gave the Red Sox a slap on the wrist! Wait, wait the braves are on the list! Everyone hates Coppy so I'll throw the book at them!) "we are investigating the Atlanta Braves and we will make this right for our wholesome(fights back a smile) and righteous(smiles while fighting back a laugh) game!"

Well it is widely assumed by many that most teams were doing it to some degree or another, and no one was squeaky clean. That is speculation that admittedly can not be proven with any cold hard facts.

The Braves were caught flagrantly cheating. That is not disputable. They do not ban people from baseball for life on a whim. Saying the Brave were unjustly targeted or received an overly harsh punishment is bullshot. Saying everyone was doing it with zero proof is not sufficient. Saying it's assumed that everyone was doing it to some degree is like saying that Enron should face the same penalty as someone that over reports their donations to the Salvation Army because both are tax code violations. They aren't.

That’s fair.. I am not making morally equivalencies about the Braves and Coppy. They did it... they got caught... they got punished. There may have been some using us to set an example, but that is what it is.. there is no one to be blamed but the people in the Braves organization who were blamed.
I think its a bit naive to think no one else was doing things maybe a bit worse than the equivalent of over reporting their SA donations, but that’s just my opinion.

The Braves were simply the ones caught. " I think my satire is a lot closer to fact than u care to believe phollie

Otherwise, shut up. www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/11/braves-will-reportedly-lose-prospects-in-punishment-for-international-violations.html"The Red Sox found themselves in a scandal that cost them prospects in July 2016. Boston forced to tear up the contracts of five international prospects that were deemed to have been acquired as part of a “package deals” system. In essence, the team overpaid marginal prospects whose trainers also represented more highly regarded young talents, with the trainers then funneling money to the superior prospect as a means of circumventing Boston’s spending limitations. Those five prospects were allowed to keep their initial signing bonuses and became free agents that were once again subject to international bonus pools. The Red Sox were barred from signing any international amateurs during the 2016-17 period, so there’d certainly be precedent for imposing a signing ban on the Braves." I year ban?! Slap on the wrist. What more proof do you need than other baseball execs admitting it was done in multiple articles and the redsox getting a much softer punishment for THE SAME EXACT THING! ?

<<It’s not just that the Braves are the latest team to run afoul of the rules governing international free agency; their blatant disregard, the investigation found, went beyond that of the Boston Red Sox, who lost five players to free agency and were banned for a year from signing international players for packaging players to skirt bonus-pool limitations, or the Pittsburgh Pirates, who last week declined to renew the contract of longtime Latin America scout Rene Gayo after a league investigation showed he received a kickback on the signing of a player from Mexico.>>
From the same article that you linked. Not THE SAME THING as you've continuously posted. Even your sources don't back you up. Give it up.
You're comparing a guy that got an public indecency fine for peeing in his back yard (Red Sox) to a guy that opened his trench coat and did penis helicopter gyrations in front of a bus full of middle schoolers (Braves)
