Bout time the league recognizes him. Very well deserved, especially given the uncertainty regarding his start due to covid. Guy got a rather serious case of it and still came back and raked. Very well earned.
Got 28 of 30 first place votes. That in itself is darn impressive.

He was the true NL MVP for this yr, who knows what it would have been like without him.
Has been a great Brave, for sure we all have to hope a well deserved extension will be worked out
The voters got it right
Another thought - if he plays long enough and has complete healthy yrs he should be in the HOF discussion. Say he has another 8 to 10 healthy yrs. Should be around 450 to 475 HRS, 1500 RBI with the OBP, slugging pct, OPS+ and already a 38.5 WAR, he would be a serious candidate.

Imagine his numbers if he hadn't been hampered by COVID the first two weeks. I think he was hitting in the mid to high 100's with little production and a ton of K's.

Beast mode.
Freeman and Bauer is where we need to spend our money, extend Freddie somewhere between 4-6 years. One of the things that speaks best of him is he played through the rebuild and gave it his all every day and never complained once while we were winning 55-60 games. He deserves to be part of this legit contender 5+ year run we’re about to go on.

Of the 22 players who received votes, we had 5 Braves on that list! Freddie, Ozuna, Acuna, Fried and Dansby. Nightengale gave Dansby a 10th place vote. He had a real nice season, but that seems quite extreme.

I know the risk of drop off in the last couple of years but I am willing to just judge it as total career value vs total career pay. I don't have to look at each season as a bubble and worry about those years being a possible over-pay. Just get him signed.

And for some reason that makes me think of John Smoltz, who was one of my all time favorite Braves players until........he pitched one game in his last season with the Braves and got paid $15M. I think we had paid him well during his career, and I think we offered him an extremely fair deal (incentive laden) for the season coming off of his injury. But the Red Sox offered him an insane deal, so much so that I didn't blame him for taking it. But then he bad mouthed the Braves a LOT over it, and I've never gotten over him being such an ass about that.
