Thanks man, I appreciate that. Thanks for all the effort you put into this site, I appreciate it all, you're definitely as devout a Braves fan as I've ever met in my life!

I hope you enjoy your retirement, if you post here or not. For a good portion of this season I cut baseball off 90% of the time. Politcal BS did me in, but of course when good things start happening, things start becoming more incapsulating, and I was able to tune in during the game we scored all the runs against the Marlins. Honestly I really didn't want the Braves to win the year of a shortened season with all these new rules. I picked my vacation week during the NLCS and I watched 6 of the 7 games. I had hardly any emotions in game 7 it was way too predictable, but for a good portion I had a bit of nostalgia that warped into the Twilight Zone type feeling. The World Series ratings were horrible so I'm actually glad everyone tuned out. Screw SJW PC bs. If things continue to go down hill with politics in pro sports at least I know I'm perfectly fine without it. With all that said do whatever that makes you happy. This message board helped me during a very depressing time I've had over the past 6 years. Specifically the music section, but also the comedy, and jah tread. I had good laughs and I thank you for your contributing to that. I want to see you to continue to contribute here even if it's a limited capacity, it wouldn't be the same without you. But it's like I said, do whatever makes you happy. If things are too negative and always bad news I agree don't partake into that, but again I'll say this, your contributions here helps more than you think. Also I got some cool info I will PM you here in a day or two about a retired Braves player, so you gotta keep checking in. LOL.

Also I got some cool info I will PM you here in a day or two about a retired Braves player, so you gotta keep checking in. LOL. Thanks, I really appreciate the kind words. You've always been one of my favorite posters for obvious reasons, we had a variety of stuff to discuss and laugh about. Politics is definitely by far the thing that has beat me down the most about internet interactions, I should have never gotten involved in a forum that was just politics. Of course I'm beat down more than ever right now, what is going on now is nuts. I'm sure I'll be back posting here in a very limited way at some point once I get some projects done and get my mind untangled some.....over BS that I should have never let it get tangled over in the first place.
I have some smaller projects lined up, but the first one and by far the biggest is body work and paint work on my '53 Chevy truck. It belonged to my father in law, he gave it to me 12 years ago and I've done a lot to it already. We had to put a motor in it, I've had it in driving condition for about 10 years now and enjoyed it. But FINALLY, starting this weekend, I'm taking it to a friend's shop who does paint and body work, and we're starting on that. He's given me a 3 month expected time frame before we finish it. It needs quite a bit of body work due to rust. Maybe I'll take a couple pictures and post them this weekend to show the "before" and then follow up later with the finished project.

Is that for the 2021 baseball season? Because once Biden puts EVERYTHING on lockdown there won't be a 2021 season at all.
Hockey was going to start around January 1st, now they're talking about moving that back to the beginning of March. But now that will end up being completely canceled too.
Just get under your bed and stay there until your government tells you you can come out.

53 Chevy truck? Original 6 in it that runs? Ya gonna drop an LS in it?lol, not exactly!
I worded that wrong in my previous post, somehow I wrote we "have" to put a motor in it instead of we "had" to put a motor in it. It did have the original 216 that it came with, my brother in law had driven the truck hot back in the late 70's and locked that motor up, and the truck sat in my father in laws garage for 30 years. He always planned to fix it up but never did, so he he finally passed it on to me in 2008. That 216 motor had babbit bearings and they could only drive those trucks about 45 mph because of that, and even then the truck would turn a lot of RPM's. In '54 they started using a 235 straight 6 in the Chevy trucks with enclosed bearings, so I bought a remanned one of those and we put in in the truck first thing. So I've been running around in it for ten years while we did a little here and a little there to it. We had to change the rear end because the gear ratio still wouldn't let you run over about 45 mph....back in the old days they didn't have a need to go more than 45 in them. We put a rear end and a transmission from a '72 Monte Carlo in it, now it'll runs 65 smooth as can be. We stayed with the steering column shifter, but next summer we're going to change it to the floor with a Hurst shifter.
I had friends trying to get me to put big racing engines in it, but I'm not wanting to drive it hard, I just want it to run around in for the fun of it. The damn thing still eats a ton of gas as it is!

I found a picture I have as the truck sits now, I'll post a few pictures when we're done with it many months from now.

My big brother had a '54. It was the same color, but had the original wheels on it. In fact, it seems like almost all of those old trucks were this green color.

Love the old stepside trucks. The fleetside has obviously taken over, but the old stepsides were king.

Meh... you can still drop a small block in it without that being considered a big racing motor, but I've always been fine with restorers staying with a straight 6. With the proper rear end as you noted they can run around well enough and that family of inline engines is pretty bullet proof.

Speaking of straight sixes, I had a couple of trucks with this jewel in it. They burned a HELLUVA lot of gas, but you couldn't break the damn things. The Beast

This engine has been in the truck for ten years and has run like a champ since day 1. Part of my issue at this point is when I get done painting this truck and putting in a new wood bed I'm going to have in the neighborhood of $16k in it. So I'm not expecting to put any more money into this thing unless I absolutely have to. I would never do this again, I had no clue what I'd be getting into cost wise. I'm only sticking with it now because of the emotional value of it being my father in laws truck. He's still alive and I'm really excited about him seeing the finished product.

I've got a '97 Chevy work truck I've had for 15 years with their 4.3 motor, that has been a great truck for me.
