Wil Myers is playing well. Maybe the NC boy has finally turned the corner in his career.

I thought you were referring to his performance in the playoffs.

I thought you were referring to his performance in the playoffs. No, I didn't dig that deeply into it. I just saw him drive in the first run with that double off of Kershaw, and remembered that he was a guy everybody in Braves country coveted at one time, and looked up his numbers. He's been OK, but has underperformed to this point given the expectations. I know he's had some injuries, and finding a defensive fit for him has been an issue in the past, but his best years may still be ahead of him. I watch the NC boys pretty closely, given that I'm one myself. Interested to see how Cal Raleigh does as well. He's from my backyard in Cullowhee, and a buddy has a son that played some travel ball with him. He's getting close to the majors now.

Myers had a good wild card series against the Cardinals, 4/12 with 2 HR and 4 RBI.

Where do the Yankees and Dodgers get guys like Voit and Muncy off the scrap pile and they turn into gems? Of all teams they can buy pretty much anybody they want yet get these guys too.

Teams run out of patience too soon or develop them poorly. Looks like Lucas Sims may be one we did that with. It's tempting to move on from guys instead of figuring out how to use them and being patient. We got Duvall and it's worked out pretty well.

Where do the Yankees and Dodgers get guys like Voit and Muncy off the scrap pile and they turn into gems? Of all teams they can buy pretty much anybody they want yet get these guys too. The upside to that is they got Voit from the Cardinals, the Cardinals have made a LOT of bad moves over the last few years. Here are players they have moved (or let move on like Ozuna) and gotten practically nothing in return for:
Randy Arozarena Tommy Pham Luke Voit Marcel Ozuna Magnerius Sierra Sandy Alcantara Zac Gallen Carson Kelly (who sucked this year but had a real good year last year)
That's an entire core of good young players. The Cards kept several guys instead and almost every one of them are flopping terribly. Cardinals fans are suicidal. Absolute hilarity.
Arozarena reportedly got traded away because he was the one who shot that idiotic video and make it public, the one of Schildt ranting and cussing after they beat us in game 5 last year.
Now he's becoming a superstar. They knew he had a ton of potential and still moved him over that video. Good times, good times.

I hope the Astros get to the World Series. How can baseball explain having a sub .500 teaming during regular season in the World Series? IMO, way to many teams are qualifying this year.

It's gonna be the Dodgers. Padres don't have the pitching. Dodgers will be very tough.

While I doubt the braves upend the Dodgers, I do think they can win a couple LCS games. That would be a cherry on top of a successful season.
