Griffin/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images Major League Baseball and the MLBPA have reached an agreement for teams to exist inside a bubble for the postseason limiting outside contact in an effort to ensure that the 2020 MLB playoffs will be completed and on schedule. The plan, according to the New York Post’s Joel Sherman, is for contending teams to move into hotels to create a quarantine like situation beginning next week. Teams such as the Atlanta Braves, who will play their final week of games at home, will also be required to move into a hotel.
The plan was reportedly met with some resistance from the players due to the amount of time they may be required to be away from their families but both sides were able to hammer out a deal.
Per Sherman’s report, all players on the 40-man roster and IL will be asked to join the quarantine and that clubs will no longer e able to summon a player from the alternate site to join the 28-man roster.
So the plan that was hammered out requires all contending clubs — even those at home — to move to a hotel in the last week of the regular season. All players on the 40-man roster and IL will be asked to join that quarantine because once it begins, clubs can no longer summon a player from the alternate site to join the 28-man roster — it will only be those who are in the quarantine.
The expanded playoffs will feature a best-of-three first round with the higher seeded team hosting all three games in their home stadiums. The Division Series and League Championship Series will be played in bubbles. The NL playoffs will take place in Houston and Arlington while the AL playoffs will be held in San Diego and Los Angeles. The World Series will be played at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Source- Talkingchop.com

Interesting twist on @mlb’s postseason schedule: there will be no off days in the Wild Card Series, Division Series or League Championship Series, which will force teams to make some pitching decisions. The World Series will have its traditional off days between Games 2-3 & 5-6.

With our starting pitchers, it's hard to imagine winning a series beyond round 1, which would at least break the current 19-year jinx. I guess we can always hope that Fried stays healthy, Hamels gets healthy, and Anderson can handle the postseason pressure.

As if things couldn't have been more challenging heading into the playoffs. Now they gotta pull this crap. And naturally it benefits LAD(as if anyone in the NL is beating them anyway)
