Mets are irrelevant in the playoffs picture but still good for some lols. Rosario got picked off first base in their game against Toronto for the final out to lose it. Lolmets

Seriously fartbox... Some of the stuff you say.... Are you just trolling? he gets out of it more times than not, but it seems he has a lot of these cheek puckering innings where he lets the tying/winning run(s) get on base. Almost never a stress free inning for him. Half of his appearances, 0 hits and 0 walks .90 WHIP 9 saves in 10 opportunities 2.16 ERA Facts > hyperbole

The mistakes a closer makes are glaring mistakes. It's the nature of the job. Everybody probably remembers the game winning homer Kingery hit off Melancon, but very few will remember how he navigated his way through the 9th inning tonight. It's just the way it is.

Soroka, Fried, Anderson has potential of being a pretty sick top of the rotation in 2021 Anderson has given this team a big lift for sure As for Soroka, can we count on him being back for any part of 2021 given that an achillies tendon injury can be a 12-15 month injury Now for 2022, that should rock assuming everyone is healthy. Then you just might see Kyle Wright starting to figure it out, maybe some time next yr we hope Than add that the meat of the lineup should be hitting their prime with two good kids in Pache and Waters going into their second yrs. What will Riley be in two yrs? My thoughts will be a mid 30s HR guy 2022 has some real interesting projection On Soroka, yes. Many, if not most, expect him to be ready for Spring Training best case and before June worst case. I thought that was crazy when I first heard it but I'm far more familiar with achilles injuries in basketball. Apparently the timeline isn't remotely similar for baseball. The 755 is Real podcast went in-depth on this a few episodes back. FWIW, there has been at least one pitcher with the same injury that came back in the same season (hurt in April, pitched in playoffs). Adam Wainwright I think.

I did not know that nor have I read any projections but thanks for the info I would be happy having Soroka back and really healthy by June Do not want him rushed

On Melancon, given he has a .90 WHIP that is an indication he is having more clean innings than those where he is putting men on base
He is on par to have one of the best Braves seasons for closers.
I am not looking at each game log but come on he has been just fine as has most of the pen this yr
That is the one area Alex fixed - can anyone think of a deeper and or better pen that this one we have had
We had some real good ones in the early to mid 2000's from my memory. And the Venterbill yrs in the early 2010s but this pen has really picked the fractured rotation up
Those other teams had at least decent SP

Say what you want but watching your closer blow a save honestly beats watching your all star closer stand in the pen with his hands on his hips as the game is blown.

Kimbrel watching from the pen, with his hands of his hips, while Freddy's pitcher of the moment gives up a homerun that eliminated us.
