I think it's over much sooner than most think. They're having success with the malaria drug in treatment. That's a huge deal in and of itself. People pulling their money out of the market right now are fools, and it's one reason the rich always get richer, because the panickers pull out and leave them with bargain prices on good stocks.

I have my say on the politics, but my guess is that realisticly, if all goes well we might be able to get one half a season of baseball. Opening day on July 4th you say, not unreasonable. And hey, why not the 14 game playoff format. I would like the regular season cut to 144 games. That might not be a bad schedule for the 21st century. One argument I give for a shorter season is less wear and tear on pitchers. Its just the way the game is this day in time I beg for a pitch clock and the players just will have to get used to it To get in more games, what about playing 2 DH a week and let all teams have another pitcher on the roster all year? Just a thought. This would also require a deep roster and pitching staff requiring teams to use more of its WHOLE roster.

Actually the rich often sell first, precipitating a crash and adding to it. They then take those paper assets the sold and invest them into tangible assets.. then after the market has bottomed out they reinvest and repeat the cycle. That is how they siphon off real wealth at the expense of the common people who play with paper money.

Easter weekend seems a reasonable target to get things started back, assuming that this thing doesn't escalate dramatically between now and then. That's almost 3 more weeks, and from what I've gathered from what I would deem reliable sources, it should peak soon. No one knows, of course, but all known viruses follow the same pattern; Farr's Law, they call it. We shall see, no?

The way today's game is managed, it will get to the point that we will see 15 man pitching staffs - rosters could be expanded to 28 players before long Doubleheaders, got to think that over. This day in time I am not sure players are cut out for doubleheaders, the habits and routines for baseball players would be altered. Sure they did DHs 50 yrs ago but this is a different day in time Baseball players are more creatures of habit more than the other sports. Don't know if they would go for it

They're saying the players will need another full spring training now but I can't see that happening. I could see 2-3 weeks of "spring" and then the games start. Some people are saying July 1st as the target date for games. Of course I've read someone who says it will be 18 months before we have stadiums filled with people again for sporting events, you know you can read a million different things out there. This widespread social media sucks now that every single person is putting their opinions on the internets.

That would mean possible 2/3rds of a season, or 108 games. You could play 12 against Division Rivals and 6 each against the other NL teams. Interleague play would have to be ditched, of course, but that's palatable. I don't think people will stay away for 18 months, but maybe I'm wrong.........

The full stadiums idea may also include restrictions for awhile, they may not want 40,000 people together in June even if things go well between now and then.

I hate to be a cynic, but hey, the world has made me one. Anyway, roughly half of the total number of cases and one-third of the deaths are in New York. One can't help but wonder if the reaction would be the same if this were the case in Nebraska instead of in New York. Just wondering..........

I say we just put a fence around NY and quarantine them indefinitely.
