What is a wind-up starting to season in June only to suspend it again in September when the virus comes back we just have to hope that it hasn't mutated over the summer. The bad part is if we don't start quarantining right now find a vaccination before fall by this time next year there will be 1.5 to 2.5 million american dead from this

I read that 80% of people infected recover quickly and with no problems, 13% have a rough go and 6% die. I don’t see a massive death toll coming from that.

I think the degree of unease and foreboding one experiences hinges on your age,and co-morbidities

PA governor Wolf just shut down ALL non-essential businesses in the entire state. "The order extends to businesses including: gyms, bars, restaurants that aren’t exclusively offering take out or delivery, casinos and entertainment venues, golf courses, community centers, stores selling non-essential goods, shopping malls and even daycare centers when feasible." Wolf said he expects essential businesses such as grocery stores, pharmacies gas stations to remain open. www.pennlive.com/news/2020/03/wolf-orders-statewide-shut-down-as-coronavirus-spreads-what-does-it-mean.html

CDC’s latest guidance could mean no sports for much longer “CDC, in accordance with its guidance for large events and mass gatherings, recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers ... cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States,” it said. “Events of any size should only be continued if they can be carried out with adherence to guidelines for protecting vulnerable populations, hand hygiene, and social distancing.” www.pennlive.com/sports/2020/03/cdcs-latest-guidance-could-mean-no-sports-for-much-longer.html

I live in a small town, about 5,000, but there's a lot here. I've been out and about all afternoon and literally everything is open. Business as usual. Maybe we're less susceptible out here, who knows, or maybe we just have more common sense.

It will prove to have been absurd when all is said and done. IMO. I just hope I'm right.

But go ahead and run around with your hair on fire, that should solve everything.

The peak is predicted to be late April/early May and even though it should be falling after that (hopefully warmer weather helps it die out quickly) they will still be encouraging social distancing for at least another month. I would guess only about a 1/2 to 2/3 max season for baseball. I hope I'm wrong.
Here in south central PA the store shelves are empty on every day necessities and people are hoarding. It's full blown panic mode. All venues and many businesses are closing except for gas stations, pharmacies, food stores, and doctors offices, and even those are cancelling some procedures and appointments that are considered non life threatening. At this point even my physical therapy is in danger of being cancelled.
