Fervently hope Nozone isn't another BJ/Dan aberration It could happen, although his peripherals last year suggest the opposite. We shall see. What peripherals?

Ain't no use trying to say one single, solitary decent word to uck about Ozuna, but this is what I was talking about:
"Consider that Ozuna's average 2019 exit velocity was 91.8 miles per hour, placing him 17th of the 273 batters with at least 300 plate appearances, and that 48.1 percent of his batted balls traveled over 95 mph, 16th in that same group"

Thanks for a piece of good news concerning him.

As you can see I have little faith in him also but I would love to be proven wrong.

For exit velo to matter, he needs contact between bat and ball

He looks to me like he showed up pretty chubby and out of shape, but I never mentioned that because I want to give him a fair chance. I think the haiku I wrote the other day about him is the only comment I've made all spring despite a very auspicious beginning, but I still get accused of being unfair. What can you do?

You're a good man uck, but come on, you've put Ozuna down at every turn. Rag arm, horrible outfielder, etc. You may be right, but he's really no more than had time to fully recover from his shoulder surgery, which was in November of 2018. I'm not gonna argue that he's a great outfielder bad arm or no, because he isn't. The bottom line is that he was the best alternative given that he was willing to sign a 1-year deal. I'm hoping for the best, and I'm sure you are, too. Peace out.

Well he did sort of have a rag arm and questionable defense, so....

But so far he hasn't exactly done.......well......anything to show that my concerns were wrong.
But I won't root against him because I never root against any of our players, so let's just get that out of the way right now.
And I have said on several occasions I actually have no problem at all with the signing since it was for one year, I thought the gamble for one year was actually a good idea. It's not like he's been horrible at the plate, he just hasn't been elite, but he should at least give us SOME production. Hopefully enough to make up for his outfield play.

The Peach is waiting in the wings, so I'm not really worried all that much about what Ozuna does.

In all reality we probably shouldn't be getting too excited about there even being a baseball season, everything in the sports world is going nuts right now. The baseball season might just be put on hold.
