I was not expecting this to affect me how it did. I felt bad enough a couple days ago that it was hard to sleep that night. I'm no particular fan of Kobe, but I watched him on Sportscenter my entire childhood. He was simply a part of my life growing up as a fan of sports. Whenever someone throws anything resembling a basketball, the go to for everyone in my generation is to shout out "Kobe!".
I actually happened to have tickets to the Hawks game on Sunday. We weren't sure if they were going to cancel the games when the news broke. It was just shocking to see that notification on my phone and I thought it was a mistake or something at first.
I think it was the right decision for the teams to play the games on Sunday. Very emotional at State Farm and got to see Trae put up 45 and hit a half court buzzer beater while wearing #8 and mouthing that was for Kobe. Players and teams put on very nice tributes for him. It was also a good call to postpone the Lakers game tonight.

Agree I was a mess. Not a Lakers fan here in So Cal but I also saw Kobe grow up from a teenager to adult. One of the greatest that I ever saw play. This news still hurts me a lot.
