I'm willing to give Sargent Droopyballs the entire rest of this season. I've seen cases like this in sports where a head coach or manager was fired and it made a huge difference, the team turned it around big time. That might occur if this team changed managers now. But he's done enough of the motivation in the past that he deserves the entire season, and I feel pretty sure he'll get that and probably all of next year no matter what. We can cry and scream all we want, but with the team's success as manager and that contract of his, he ain't going nowhere. For better or for worse.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't scream, I've never been able to accept his actual managerial skills and I'll complain every day if I have to, but reality says he'll be given a really long leash.
In the meantime he better do the only thing he's good at, and get these guys motivated somehow.

I'm with you on that... Snit deserves the season.
He is an idiot.. I've always said he was an idiot, but he was handed a bum deal this year with a crappy pen and no bench.
It's seasons like this when you really see what a manager has, so let him show it.

I'm in the "if he resigns today I'm cool with it" camp. Check that. I'm excited about it.

I don’t think anybody should be holding their breath. He’s made a bunch of dumb decisions again but this season is not on him. It’s on the players and AA. If we end up winning 70-75 games I think we can hold him partially responsible for not finding the tricks to keep the guys motivated, but he would still have his job next year. I think it would be with a fairly short leash though. I’d love to see him gone but I don’t see it happening, the problems are way bigger than him.
People talk about him having lost the team, the only way I see that as possible is if we have a team full of guys who are really mad that we never retaliate when Acura gets beaned. And that could be the root of it. If it is the guys should just agree on their own they’re retaliating and fighting next time it happens.

Maybe lost isn't the right word, but these guys know they can go through the motions and Snit is unlikely to do or say anything about it. They suck this year and they unfortunately seem to be OK with that, and they know they don't have to answer to anyone about it. So.......they just keep on sucking.

On the surface that certainly seems to be the case. Don’t run out a ground ball? No problem.

At the same time, if pitchers constantly hit you, that's just baseball.

I will say with Acuna it happened a whole bunch of times. They shouldn’t have bitched to the press about it. Freddie did make it sound like they tried many times to talk to Acuna about it but couldn’t get through to him, but even then I don’t think you talk to the press.

Yeah and Freddie never says anything. Truth be known, he's probably jealous of Acuña.

There is nothing we know about Freeman that even remotely indicates he would be jealous of another player.
That is about as 180 degrees opposite of everything we know about him and has no basis whatsoever.

When he does day something, it's something negative about our most talented player. Other teams go after Acuña? Crickets from Freddie. Sorry if I'm not a member of the "Freddie is God" crowd. Seems he would rather be buddies with the opposition than stand up for a teammate is all.

I'm not a member of any Freddie is god crowd either, but I'm not going to just pull up some random negative comment about him that has no basis whatsoever and put "truth be told" in front of it.

Well hell, if your can't speculate here, where can you? The one public comment Freddie has made was negative towards Acuña, and in spite of numerous opportunities to say something about teams hitting Acuña, he's never said a word. A leader goes both ways......and yeah, I am questioning Freddie's leadership. Absolutely I am.

You can speculate.
I am just pointing out that I disagree because I have never seen anything that would remotely make me think what you said might be true.
So feel free to speculate... even blind speculation with no support, but you will probably get some feedback.
As far as his leadership goes... I don't know. He doesn't seem to be a super vocal guy, so if the team needs that they may not ever get it from him though.
Some of it though and this does have some basis, is "the Braves way". It may be the organizational team culture and reinforced by Skidmarks on a daily basis. If the team frowns on outspokenness and the manager has let it be known that we don't retaliate and turning over a table in the locker room isn't how we do things, then Freddie is just towing the company line; Maintaining an even demeanor.. just be businesslike, etc. That is completely believable based on what I've seen from this team.
