WOW! Brewers snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. What a bonehead play by the right fielder! I was having a conversation today with a high school junior who plays baseball for his school. I said that I felt sorry for Grisham, but to use your words I said it was a boneheaded play. This kid says...no way, playing the ball that way gave him the best chance to throw Zimmerman out who was the runner on second. I said maybe so, but if he had kept the ball in front of him, like you're taught, Zimmerman might have scored but the game would have been tied and your team was still in the game, by making the risky play he let the go ahead run score costing them the game. He didn't have much to say after that.

Can't take that chance... no way.
You concede the tie game and make sure you keep the go ahead run from scoring. The risk was too great to take.

It was a hero/zero play, that's for sure.
