Miles Mikolas, RHP, 9-14, 4.16 ERA, 144 K's Mikolas will be making his postseason debut when he takes the mound against the Braves. The right-hander wasn't as sharp as he was in 2018, when he went 18-4 with a 2.83 ERA, but Mikolas still finished strong. He had a 3.03 ERA over his final six starts this season, while striking out 35 in 35 2/3 innings.
vs
Dallas Keuchel, LHP, 8-8, 3.75 ERA, 91 K's Keuchel will be making his 11th career postseason appearance (10th start), but his first with Atlanta. He went 4-2 with a 3.31 ERA in his previous postseason experience with the Astros. Keuchel had a 2.55 ERA over his final nine starts this season.

Its been a terrific regular season, team has overachieved
But, I do not like the stench of losing down the stretch, especially getting swept by the Muts at the end, how can you expect to beat a Cardinal team playing well when you belly up vs the Muts and lost two to the Royals the week before? Something has been missing as of late.
My prediction is the Cardinals take it, mostly because of the past post season failures. The Braves have disappointed me too many times in post season so no reason for foolhardy giddiness. Their pitching is better, and with our post season history well, you know the rest of the story
Its still been one hell of a yr, but in the playoffs reality will set in. And if its close at the end, something funky like an infield fly rule 225 feet away or something else will disappoint us again
Would be nice to see the post season fortunes change though, but I am worn out as an ATL sports fan with it all

WHEN is MLB going to get off their ass and tell us the times for the NLDS?

Well, the Dodgers will get the primetime game, IMO. Assuming that, Bravos probably play at 4-4:30 or so??

I hope it is not a 1:00 (but fear it might be) as I have a business meeting in Pigeon Forge, Tennises Friday morning that could cause me to miss the game on TV. I really need to be at this meeting, but might call it off if the Braves are playing at 1:00--becaue I really want to watch the game and not have to listen to it on XM-Sirius radio driving back to Western North Carolina. I am hoping for a 4:00 game or later Friday.

Well yeah, with every batter stepping out of the box to fart and pitchers stepping off the rubber, and this is after almost every pitch. Pitchers and batters alike. MLB has the ridiculous excuse of "too much time taken" for the reason to make relievers face at least three batters. Between this stupid rule and using the all star game to decide the home team for the WS, Baseball is being ruined before our eyes, imo.

www.talkingchop.com/2019/9/30/20890554/2019-mlb-playoffs-nlds-braves-pitching-staffI know, just another opinion on who makes the cut but he makes a better case for Julio than I (in spite of all who are down on him). He did have a consistent and dominant stretch this season Not asking that he supplant DK MS or MF as starter, just asking that he be included on the roster. Snit should have given him an opportunity to pitch out of the pen ...who knows? he might have surprised us. Anyway, I’d rather see Teheran in there over Swarzak ...plus one never knows what might happen in the PS. Dallas might stink up the joint early on and it would be sad to blow thru the pen in the first game. Rooting for Julio.
