This used to be quite an achievement for a team, but like most everything else in baseball, it has been watered down too. I mean, look at the godawful teams that weren't even TRYING to win games this year: Detroit, Baltimore, Miami, and Kansas City. I mean sure, Minnesota won 100 games, but they played 38 of those games against the Tigers and the Royals (yes, the Royals are our daddy, but I digress). In the NL West, there wasn't a complete "tanker", but the division sucked other than the Dodgers. The AL East, always greatly overhyped, had the Orioles and the Blue Jays to spit on. I think the Braves, the gnats, and the Cards are the 3 most battle tested teams in the NL, although obviously the Dodgers are very, very good. The Yankees are overhyped (surprise, surprise!), and as mentioned, the Twins had not one, but TWO tankers in their division. The Astros are a true juggernaut, though. Top to bottom, they're the best team in baseball by a pretty good margin, and are the team to beat.....IMO. Just sayin'

I’d be all for a hard cap and a hard floor and have been for thirty years but it’s never going to happen in baseball.

I’d be all for a hard cap and a hard floor and have been for thirty years but it’s never going to happen in baseball. I don't know about that. It might have to happen. Tanking goes against every unwritten rule in the unwritten sportsmanship handbook. In sports, you're supposed to put your best efforts into winning games, and that's not happening in baseball.

The big market teams seem to have more power in baseball than other sports, and there’s nothing for them to gain by having a floor and a ceiling. Just another reason I hate all the big market teams and LMAO when they miss the playoffs, like the Sawks this year.
