Markakis Splits
Home: .309/.393/.482/.875, 10 2B, 1 3B, 4 HR; Away: .241/.325/.343/.668, 6 2B, 1 3B, and 2 HR.
vs RHP: .293/.387/.449/.836 (.787 vs starter) 12 2B, 1 3B, 6 HR; vs LHP .225/.273/.310/.583 (.707 vs starter) 4 2B, 1 3B, 0 HR
OPS: April/March .881, May .688, June .731
Markakis hasn't played well on the road and this makes sense for a guy that's 35 years old. Also the numbers suggest he should sit some games vs LHP. While probably not a straight platoon maybe calling up Duvall wouldn't be so bad. Right now Snitker just doesn't give a damn even though these numbers clearly suggest he shouldn't play every day.
Albies Splits
Home: .323/.369/.585/.954, 12 2B, 2 3B, 9 HR; Away: .242/.319./.322/.641, 4 2B, 1 3B, and 2 HR.
OPS: April/March .844, May .615, June .995
Ozzie seems more of a learning process as they moved him down the order the more he was able to prevail. I feel his bad home/away splits were more a product of a bad month in May when we just had 11 home games and 17 away games. He's a much better hitter as rhb than a left handed batter but that's nothing new.
Donaldson Splits
Home: .286/.408/.595/1.003, 9 2B, 10 HR; Away: .236/.317/,403/.720, 9 2B, 5 HR
OPS: April/March .890, May .752, June .909
Donaldson has been his worth so far. A bit of a bad slumping May, with foot issues put him in a less than stellar May. He is unusually having problems with lefties he has .193 avg but a .370 obp, slugging .368, ops .738. Some days off on the road wouldn't hurt, but he's always a legitimate home run hitter. I think his bad away stats might be because he's been in the AL and seen these pitchers far less. He's also 33 and has a bad haircut.
Swanson Splits
Home: .252/.337/.429/.766, 8 2B, 6 HR; Away: .266/.313/.519/.833, 6 2B, 3 3B, 9 HR
OPS: April/March .860, May .694, June .864
Batting 2nd .798 OPS (208 PA), Batting 6th .685 (82 PA), Batting 7th 1.020 (17 PA), Batting 8th 1.103 (30 PA)
I wanted Dansby to be at the top of the order some time early this season. Looks like that's paying off for him. I'm assuming Dansby still has he trouble with the slider and I'd like to see him go opposite field more like he was early in the season. His defense has taken a dip also. If his defense was like last year he could be in the top 10 of SS right now.
Acuna Splits
Home: .296/.374/.494/.867, 6 2B, 1 3B, 8 HR; Away: .281/.364/.503/.867, 4 2B, 10 HR
OPS: April/March .887, May .764, June .957
Batting 1st .882 OPS (201 PA), Batting 4th .854 OPS (156 PA)
Looks like Acuna has been about the same player home and away (this didn't include 6/25 homer). I thought batting Acuna 4th was dumb considering his speed. Leading off is good for him, I'd like to see him bat 2nd or third, but as of now no one else is a good lead off hitter. Acuna has smashed lefties with 1.021 OPS. His OPS on the first pitch was .767 but that went up with his homer against the cubs in the first. I think around the league batting your star hitter lead off can be very beneficial for them.
Freeman Splits
Home: .287/.388/.599/.987, 8 2B, 1 3B, 13 HR; Away: .344/.418/.603/1.020, 13 2B, 1 3B, 8 HR
vs RHP .320/.415/.610/1.025 (1.031 vs starter) 17 2B, 2 3B, 15 HR; vs LHP .300/.364/.575/.939 (.914 vs starter), 4 2B, 6 HR.
OPS: April/March .921, May .979, June 1.129
Freddie easily has been our MVP. Can't find any faults with him. Being better on the road has played huge for us as well. Also what a June he is having.
I'm not going to post Riley's stats but stats suggest he's struggling on the road. 1.084 ops home and .735 road. Despite his bad stats on road he's always a home run threat. I'm starting to wonder if Riley should be sent down and work on some things. Either that or take some days off. Main reason I posted this is to prove there's plenty of places to plug Camargo or even the rest of our bench guys. It doesn't take rocket scientist to know Markakis should be having more days off, like most of us want.
