I truly hate it.
People complain when soccer goes to a shootout... after a 30 minute OT, because they don’t want to see
a match end in that format.
Football changed The overtime rules because nobody wanted to see a game end on a field goal 1 minute in to an OT.
Then baseball comes up with this? Literally.. one stand alone single can be the deciding factor.

The 3 on 3 OT in hockey is fun, but is absolutely no way to decide a game. It should be a sideshow exhibition, not actually a way to decide games.

I am a huge soccer fan, and their shootouts are fun... but yeah, not the best way to
determine a winner. So many elements of the game are removed from the final
decision..
I just don’t know anymore... maybe it’s the old man get off my lawn syndrome, but
I think the only thing wrong with baseball is the people who think something needed
fixing or changing.
All that was needed was what was already in the rulebook.

All that was needed was what was already in the rulebook. I think there's a call for change because people nowadays have that immediate gratification need. So they need lot of runs scored and lots of home runs so something exciting is always happening. They can stand a 1-0 game with five total hits in the game like us old timers who love the game for the way it's always been played. |

I love hockey more than baseball, but if they started deciding playoff games that way I can't imagine I'd keep watching. When they came up with this stupid OT system in hockey they completely screwed up the game. Now, since you still get a point if you tie but lose in OT, everybody goes into the third period just trying to play for a tie so they can get that stupid loser point. Then hope they get lucky and get the bonus point with an OT win. Bah. |

They can't enjoy anything unless there's nonstop action and excitement. And how do they know what's actually exciting? Whatever they're told is exciting, is exciting. |

This is why I think they should do away with the play clock in football. After every play, everyone should have to sprint back
to the line of scrimmage and run the next play.
