I'm changing my web host and looking for a good web hosting service. I have used Earthlink/Mindspring (I think they are/were based in Atlanta) since the late 90's/early 2000's but they have been sold once again (from Windstream Holdings to Trive Capital) and their current owner has seen fit to discontinue my personal/small business service next year and their current personal/eBusiness web hosting options are way more than what I need or want to pay. I'm also looking for my own domain in lieu of an "earthlink" domain. Only need personal and a few small business capabilities, i.e. shared server is sufficient, with a web builder that also allows some developer coding also. Price isn't a factor but most are generally in the $8-$12/mo range for what I need plus maybe a little extra for security and backups. I don't need anything super fast but at least 5GB of space would be nice but I could live with less. Currently, I'm considering HostGator, iPage.com, bluehost, one.com, and several others. If you have experience with any of these or if have a recommendation let me know if you are satisfied.
Thanks, PA

I don't have a ton of experience, but Squarespace has been pretty good according to some business friends.
Wix is also pretty highly rated, but I don't have any direct experience with them.

For anyone interested and after much research I decided to go with FastComet for web hosting and website building. Good standard shared hosting, cPanel, free website developer, Wordpress hosting, free transfer of existing websites, daily backups, free unlimited email accounts, free domain forever (i.e. free annual renewal), excellent security, fast website performance with multiple hosting locations, free support 24/7, and very reasonable prices ($2.95/mo for 1 website and $5.95/mo for unlimited websites) and a fixed renewal price. FatsComet is one of the few small private companies offering web hosting, as opposed to the large conglomerates like EIG, and offers personalized service. That's what tipped the scales for me. www.fastcomet.com/
