He deserves it in my book. Word has it he will retire after this yr per MLB Network
Will have 250 wins (counts for alot in this century) and 3,000 K's (a HOF milestone)
There is enough in the other stats to warrant first ballot election
He might even go out as a champion on that team this yr
Any dissent that he is not HOF? Can't see how you do not put him in at least in his second or third yr of eligibility

I wasn’t a big Andrew fan, not his hitting anyway. He may deserve to be in just because of his defense though.
I wasn’t a fan of his hitting because I always thought that he wasn’t a good clutch hitter. He was vulnerable to that low and away breaking stuff and I always thought he was an easy out in big moments. Now that we have the advanced stats, I just went and looked, and he had a career wRC+ of 94 in high leverage situations. I was not surprised to see that.
I also didn’t respect the way he let himself go physically. And it’s such a shame, he had so much talent. He was a blast when he first broke into the big leagues.

Yeah, I can agree with you about Andruw. He never learned to hit the ball the other way, which really is inexcusable, IMO. He had to power to drive the ball anywhere. Hey, just say it.........he turned into a fatass...LMAO. All that said, defense alone should get him in.
I mean, this got in on defense:

Yeah the whole Baines thing is a complete joke. What sucks is it was just some small committee, and several of them had some sort of ties where they showed favoritism. What the hell? Not that the writers who vote are always on the up and up, but how can some small sub committee add someone?

I think the thing with Andruw, too, was that people always expected more. Nothing short of breaking Aaron's records would have been enough for some. I felt the same way at times, but I'll say this. He was the greatest damn center fielder I ever saw.......not even close. He should be in the Hall of Fame regardless of all that.

Yeah he was the best defensive CF I ever saw. I do think he wasted his talent, even with as much as he accomplished. He was washed up by the time he was 30-32. He didn’t take care of himself and he wasn’t a cerebral hitter, to put it mildly. He really wasn’t able to make adjustments or improve himself as a hitter. He was just a see ball, try to pull ball over left field wall guy.

I don't know if he wasted his talent or not. Maybe he did the best he could hitting-wise, I don't know. I do know that he didn't keep himself in the kind of shape he should have. I also think the game just came too easy to him. Sometimes, that kind of thing can be a curse........

I’ve heard he had a real reputation for spending a lot of time in strip clubs and with the girls who worked in them. No telling what all he might have been doing. I get the concept, you have all that money and all that free time, but damn, I would never mess around with one of those nasty skeezers.

As for CC, at least second or third time out but for what we have had in the 21st century he belongs
Schilling too, post season, 3K K's. 3 20 W seasons & the WAR & ERA plus is right up there with some guys who are in
Makes no sense he is not in.
And if you put Baines in, you have to put Murph in.
