I think it’s also impossible for us to know what our management thinks of certain players when they never mention them. When the Brewers added Cain and Yelich I said right then man we oughta grab Santana. But then I think we have to ask ourselves why did the Brewers give on him, and since he went so cheap why weren’t other teams interested?

If the Braves value defense, that's kind of a non-starter.

And the guy has always been an offensive machine, all through the minors and into the big leagues. He has a 201 wRC+ so far this year. His defensive numbers last year were about on par with Nick's.

His defense is definitely suspect but it seemed like at some points AA had interest in guys that could be stuck in left and lean on Ender to help defensively. Castellanos comes to mind.
Hopefully Pache and Waters make this a moot point. Acuna LF, Pache CF, and Acuna RF in 2020 would make for a lot of splooging at the Akod household.

Santana had three more hits and 4 RBI tonight, he has 19 RBI already for this season.

Trust me I’m aware, he was a sleeper late rounder on both my fantasy teams.

Trust me I’m aware, he was a sleeper late rounder on both my fantasy teams. I picked him up pretty early in his rookie year and he was a goldmine for me that year. Last year was just a funky season for him, losing his spot and even playing in the minors. I didn't think to try to grab him this year, and I should have, smart move on your part!

May have been one of my few smart moves. In one of my leagues I’ve got the likes of Buxton, Mazara, Moncada (he’s looked good so far), and Polanco/Sano on the DL. That’s a lot of hope in that crew. Really need Vlad JR to get the call and Kimbrel is on my bench... love me some fantasy

Yeah I love the fantasy leagues too.
In one of my leagues I'm clinging to 5th place right now and have this group on my DL and bench (because my DL overflowed): Gregorious, Aaron Hicks, Ohtani as a hitter, Scooter Gennett and Folty. That's a pretty good surge I should be getting in the next month or two as those guys come back.
One guy I picked up late that I thought was going to be a sleeper was Brian Anderson with the Marlins. I keep thinking he's going to break out but he's had a terrible start.
Another guy I've been burned by so far this year has been Brandon Nimmo. I didn't even notice until I was going through leaders numbers over the offseason that Nimmo had a 4.5 WAR year last year, an .886 OPS and a 149 wRC+, the freaking 6th highest in all of baseball. What??? So I drafted him about midway this year in both of my leagues, and he's hitting .103 so far. wRC+ of 26.

His defense cant be that bad . All the reading up i do on players, i dont recall anyone saying his defense was so bad that is was a detriment. Not saying it isnt possible , just saying ive never read that. I might have read that his defense was average but not an asset . I think he might have been a good DH .I think he has too much swing and miss for their liking But thats not the case so far this season.

Trust me I’m aware, he was a sleeper late rounder on both my fantasy teams. i was able to grab him as a 4th outfielder but hes playing so well i have to play him daily. My outfield consists of Stanton, JD Martinez ,Conforto,Santana and Schwarber . I only start 3 in this points league .

Off season be dxmmed, Braves playing competitive ball & the NL East looks as advertised with a solid 4 team race
Maybe Alex knows more then we do, hope so anyway
Keep the winning up, pitching can be a little more consistent but there are some good pitching staffs out there having trouble with consistency thus far
Credit to Kyle Wright for his last start & Fried just might be ready to be the real deal at age 25. Maybe a late bloomer
Newk, if he gets control we know what he can do so maybe we did not need to overpay for a SP
We do not need you Dallas K., from the looks of it no one seems to want him at his price so let him rot out there for a year and see if the rust ever wears off

First off this is now a fantasy baseball tread. Secondly Pitofmisery might be special but he’s at least on the Angelos level in Baltimore.

The Braves have agreed to a contract extension with second baseman Ozzie Albies, reports Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic (via Twitter).
