C’mon guys, we’ll be lucky if the Braves are able to sign Wilson Ramos. Too many teams need a catcher and Grandal is the clear #1. Some team is gonna offer up a hitting prospect for JTR, and the Braves won’t be able to match it.

AA is either going to make us or break us for at least the next five years based on what he does this offseason and next. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. As much fun as it is for us playing with names and trades, I'm glad I'm not the one having to make those decisions in real life.

As much fun as it is for us playing with names and trades, I'm glad I'm not the one having to make those decisions in real life. There is another option, incremental additions. The Braves have some prospects that fill needed holes in Riley, Pache, and Contreras. If AA allows things to move gradually, those players could/will find there way on the MLB roster. In the mean time, the Braves could make trades to refill the minors, and trade from their surplus of pitching prospects/lmlb starters to improve the MLB club. It’s not as exciting, but it is an option, and for a team that could potentially be cash strapped, it may be the only option. Yes, they have money, but they also have guys they want to extend. $50 million or so goes a long ways toward alleviating that problem.

That’s why none of us should be surprised if we end up with Ramos, relievers, and either Camargo or Riley playing LF on OD.

You can do worse than Ramos and Flowers behind the plate. I'd be fine with that, and seeing what Riley has to offer. If we trade Riley and he blows up somewhere else, you're talking minimum $15-20 million per year to make up for it. I would trade him before I'd trade Pache, though. Elite CF defense is extremely valuable.

I'm not trading Riley. Dude was absolutely killing it for years before he got injured this year. He's going to be a really good right handed power bat, exactly what we need hitting behind Freddie.

(Realmuto/Flowers/Pache+Soroka/Gohara > Ramos/Flowers ~ $) > (Flowers/whoever * 2/Grandal)
If you notice, simple math shows that while Realmuto and Flowers would be better than Ramos/Flowers depending on cost in prospects ... Ramos/Flowers is by far better than Flowers and someone else not named Grandal.

Braves get three ESPN games in first week of 2019 seasonThe Braves’ allure is returning following a dramatic 2018 season which included 90 wins and a division championship. ESPN selected Braves at Phillies for its 7 p.m. slot on March 31. The rivals will be concluding their first series of the new season after battling for first place through most of last year. » More: 2019 Atlanta Braves schedule The country gets another dose of Braves afterward: ESPN will air their home opener, April 1 vs. the Cubs, as well as their meeting on April 3. The day in between is scheduled off. It’s already a jump from a season ago, when the Braves weren’t featured in ESPN’s Sunday night lineup. Led by Ronald Acuna and other exciting young players, the first week probably won’t be the Braves’ last in the national spotlight. www.ajc.com/sports/baseball/braves-get-espn-games-first-week-2019-season/6r1y16H2EisM0jt7EE7JrM/

Yahoo sports MLB home page shows the A's and Mariners have the first spring training game scheduled for February 21st at 3:05 PM.
Maybe I'm lacking in the memory department, but I don't recall a game ever being played that early.
I'm giddy just thinking about it, that's only a month away!
As one guy said in the conversation section for that A's/Mariners game:
"herndee herdee yarndee ferdee irschky nirschky nee."
I don't see how anybody could disagree with that.
Can't wait to get the show on the road!

I'm pissed because I did not get notification on the Braves March 24th 1st game in NORTHPORT at the new stadium. Now, they say they are sold out, but may "release" more soon. WTH? Anyone have any idea on how to get tix? I want to go bad. I have tix for the Friday, Braves/Tigers 3/22 at the Disney Complex....

Not sure about that but I did just secure my home opener tickets against the Cubbies.

I was gonna get a plane ticket and go to OD, but I decided to buy a house instead. I’m still on the fence on whether I made the right choice.
