Plus some people want to act like giving a guy off every once in awhile is akin to benching his bat for the season. Plus they make the assumption that the one game once a week or 10 days that Neck (or someone else) sat, we would have gotten an automatic nothing out of Camargo in their stead. timing is a delicate thing even great hitters like Freeman get their timing off all the time and when your timing is going good one game can be enough to get it off in a player's mind I know that most people today believe that managers should manage basically just by the numbers and treat the players like their robots and not people but that's not the case you have to manage the person as much as the player and baseball players have egos I agree completely, and Snit did a pretty bad job managing Camargo the person. He treated him like a robot who he could just plug into the outlet one every two weeks and expected him to perform like a reliable kitchen appliance. ...and then there was that spell earlier in the year when Freddie was slumping and he finally got that game off to reset, and he came back instantly raking again.

Damn, they shut Muller down for the season, and he won’t be in the AFL. Gotta believe he’ll be invited to ST and start the year in AAA.

I honestly don’t know if it’s Touki or the Braves player development, but seeing what I’ve seen, I’d pick the latter. Hence the reason why I give Braves pitchers a long leash. It’s not their fault the Braves have crap pitching development.

It’s not their fault the Braves have crap pitching development. I'm not so sure about that. Braves have historically done a great job of developing pitchers (not to say they're doing that now), and Touki has been an enigma ever since he became a pro.

You talking like 30 years ago? Cause I can’t think of any pitchers the Braves have developed that have been consistently good.

Agree... "historically" means late 80's - early 90's.

Historically? You talking like 30 years ago? Cause I can’t think of any pitchers the Braves have developed that have been consistently good. Well I did qualify that statement. Let's see.......Kimbrel. Soroka is looking good. Julio has to qualify, maddening as he is. Anyway, it makes for an interesting question. With the velocity obsession, does ANY organization successfully develop pitchers any more? It's like "he throws 1,000 MPH, so let's give him a shot" instead of teaching the craft of changing speeds, working up and down in the zone, etc. I'd even make the case that Soroka does most of that on his own, because nobody else coming up seems to be able to do it.
