This was a glorious game. Big win, Bitch Boy Harper gets nailed in the knee, we get several key calls from the ump, lot of whining and crying from the Gnats, I'll bet their announcers have been bellowing all night......just beautiful.
I'll be this really pisses off all the experts who predicted again that this was the year the Gnats were going to win it all.
For the record, we are now one game ahead of the Faillies in the loss column and 6 ahead of the Gnats in the loss column.
Lets seal this trip with a Facebook win tomorrow!

David O'Brien @dobrienatl #Braves' Snitker on Culberson going forward: "He’s still going to stay in his role. That’s good, just getting the at-bats always serves him down the road when he pinch-hits. I think how we’re using him is good obviously because we’re getting really good production out of him.”

So of course Charlie sits tomorrow and Dansby plays.
how should we describe Charlie's role exactly? His role is to be the backup bench guy, the one with these OPS's over the last four months:
May .876
June .839
July .854
August 1.250 (before his HR tonight)
While this guy starts every day:
May .630 June .722 July .632 August .250
If we were not contending for a playoff spot, and didn't have other players strikingly out performing Dansby, I could see letting him play every day. But that's not the case at all. When you're fighting for a pennant you put your best players on the field. I realize even if we play Charlie at third we're sacrificing some defensively, but it's maybe one tenth of what we're gaining offensively by having Charlie in the starting lineup. That was a hug HR he hit tonight, it set the tone and had the Gnats behind the eight ball for the whole game. You play that guy every day until he goes 0-30. This is pure hogwash.

Joe Simpson got in his head when he questioned his age, then he took it out on the wrong person. Hail Joe! See he knew what he was doing.

That article talks about the gNats being mad that Gibson's strike zone wasn't consistent, but it actually was. Most of the strike calls they complained about were being called strikes all night long from inning 1 to inning 9. They just failed to adjust and defiantly kept taking those pitches and daring him to call them strikes.
and he did.... over and over again.

The irony of it is we really got screwed in game one Tuesday by the home plate ump. He was terrible but made a lot more bad calls against us. I agree the grumpy ump last night was better than what we usually see. Off the top of my head it seems like that pitch Soto complained about at least clipped the very edge of the zone. As someone said the other day, whatever happened to “swing if it’s close” with two strikes?
