I thought Acuna was said to have plus tools as a fielder and thrower? He was. and I saw him make a pinpoint laser throw from RF in a game in Charlotte last year. I think it’s just his foot positioning. He’s made a couple of bad throws lately but he hasn’t lined up and set his feet properly. He may end up being a good defensive OF some day but he has a lot of work to do on routes and setting his feet to throw. It should have been Inciarte's ball to catch. Acuna is a bit hyperactive. I like his energy despite some of the immaturity.

Man Chip comes off as patronizing way too much. It's ok to rave about the other team every now and then, but Chip takes it to another level. In Milwaukee he was raving about what a fun team the Brewers were to watch, while they were whipping our asses. He did over and over. Something's gotta give. I used to be able to tolerate him, but this year he's really getting under my skin. Probably more so this year since we're actually in a pennant race. I know it's an illogical thought, but I feel like his negative energy makes the Braves play bad. It's as if he's just waiting for the Braves to play bad so he can be heard about the woes. He's nothing like his dad or grandpa and it just sucks he gets to stick around because of them.

There was one replay that showed he kind of hesitated and looked to see if the runner was going before he started getting in position to throw. He did not expect Frazier to run, was caught by surprise and made an off balance throw on a ball he easily could have lined up and played properly. Any kind of decent play would have made Frazier a dead duck.

But I've never liked Chip. I think he was actually a test tube baby.

I think his good quality is he can keep up well with the factual stats and has some descent order to that. The sincerity really isn't there with him. When Heyward hit his first homerun and that "Welcome to the show!" it felt like something he prepared to say and he yelled it so loud like that will make it better. On the other hand Powell's call on Heyward's first homerun was genuine pure excitement. Powell comes off as optimists and that's always good for announcing. I've heard Chip answer fan questions in rain delay's on the radio and I felt he's actually comes off quite sincere and somewhat insightful in that setting.

Another thing with both Chip and Joe. Sometimes they give a feeling that the Braves are already losing before the game has even started.

I thought of Ernie right after I posted and should have edited it. We were so spoiled. We went from pure gold to pure poop.

He needs a lot more seasoning defensively, IMO.
