I don't know what others think but I wouldn't be opposed to giving Nick a 2 year contract with a mutual option for the third year. He's been money for us at a reasonable price! I don't want!
Nick is having a great year, but it's also a contract year and I'm always leery of those. Despite what some people think, Nick has not been very good for us until this year. He's probably had a good enough year to also get more money now than we should be comfortable paying him. He's still not that good of an all around player, in my opinion we can do quite a bit better with the money and trade chips we have.
Nick is probably going to have a higher WAR this year than he had in his first three years with us combined. I don't trust him to continue what hes done this year. Right now he has a higher WAR for this season than he's had in any year over the past 10 seasons. I find that to mean this year is the anomaly.
But nonetheless, thanks a million Nick, I do appreciate what he has done for us this year!

Neck is what, 57 years old? This year is the text book definition of a small sample size. Precedence on aging players having a great year and being near garbage afterwards is pretty set in stone. I'd rather the Braves offer a multi-year deal to the younger version of Neck, Michael Brantley, than extend Neck.
