How much of this slide is on Snitker? Hard to tell. Players aren't performing but he hasn't done much to put them in a position to succed either. Sam Freeman has been way overused... A few years ago Viz went down after he was used like 5 times in 7 days and he's hurt again after a similar situation. He took a hot bat and sat him and has kept playing players struggling mightily. I think Freddie needs a day off every now and then and he refused to do that even when he got hurt. So how much is on Snit? No clue... but he hasn't done much to shake things up. I just really don't understand though how his positive attitude and club-house goodyness all of a sudden quit working.

The 2 Out RISP couldn’t have continued and I attribute a lot of the struggles to that. Not to mention both catchers have been a black hole, and dansby has blown giant ones since the calendar turned to May. A lot of factors really, I can’t blame the SP like others do though, the offense has been terrible. Ender nor Dansby have hit like major leaguers thus far.

Well his lifeless ,automated lineup selection, and like you say his neglect of who's doing well in favor of the "regulars", is bewildering and his bullpen management is often baffling. It's like he is impassively running a team of horses. We might benefit from a few giddy ups and whoas

I blame the players, but I also credit the players for performing well prior to this swoon.
All in all Snitker is a nitz.
He didn't cause the wins and he didn't cause the losses but he makes a lot of stupid moves.

Well if every player did their job then you could hire a monkey to manage a team. If hitters always got hits and pitchers always got strikeouts then you could draw straws out of a hat when it came to managerial decisions.
Yet some managers and coaches find perpetual success and others find perpetual failure.
I do think we had some early over-achievement... and that's why I find it amusing how eagerly some were crediting the manager... but now they are strangely silent about his contributions.
I think about some I know whom have credited Snit for our early success... blame the players for our current struggles, and blame Bobby Cox for us only winning one world series and credit only the players for giving us 14 opportunities.
Baseball is funny.

Baseball is funny. LEADERSHIP is huge. In business or baseball. The jury is out whether Snitker is a great Leader. I do feel that a manager today has to be able to balance the fragile egos of all the Millionaire athletes. That is a huge part of the job. It seems some managers are able to motivate players and many managers do not.

Many here opine with vociferous opposition to many of Snitker's decisions but are reluctant to attach significant managerial liability if said decisions go awry and impact team results

And I’m not reluctant to praise him for motivating the players because he seems to good at that. It all adds him to him being a good bench coach instead of the manager in my opinion. He can pat guys on the back that way and not be calling the shots.
