Believe it or not, it’s only been 6 years. In 2012, they had Chipper, Kimbrel, Uggla, and Bourn. As far as tough crowd, the Braves piss poor play over the last few weeks has taken some of the shine off what’s been a good first half. You're right about this latest stretch, but let's not forget where we are compared with where everyone thought we'd be. The opportunity is there. Hopefully the guys can grab it. I think we need a very strong homestand to reassert ourselves. We need to sweep this two gamer against Toronto and win 2 of 3 against the Dbacks. That would give us some momentum going into the break.
That being said, if we don't start playing much better, I can see us going 2-3 and suddenly, that three game series at Washington to begin the second half could end with us in 3rd place.

I'm anxious to see what moves AA will make, if any. He's in a tough spot in terms of making trades. You hate to trade away a Max Fried and watch him turn into a top-notch 2 or 3 starter elsewhere, for example, especially if it's for a rental.

I know the fans will howl if the team plays the second half like they were expected to... especially if AA stands pat. I am one who wouldn't mind seeing him acquire some controllable pitching help and then go after a bat or two in free agency, but I do not see the wisdom in a trade for a rental that would cost the organization valuable assets. It may mean not making the playoffs this year, but I think it's the best approach long term. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

I think it would be foolish to do something to try to "go for it" this season, I never thought we were going to legit contenders in the end. Staying the course is going to set us up for 5-8 years as contenders, and beyond that if we draft well. And sign Danny Santana to a 10 year deal.

Unfortunately, there's no way we can afford a player of his caliber long-term. It would be better to save money by signing Harper and hope that he can bounce back.

Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk Hearing people say the Giants may be sellers and Braves fans saying the Braves should trade for MadBum. My take has been and still is similar to yours. Why trade for a rental when the guy will be a FA in 18 months? The Braves are in a position, financially, to absorb the cost of free agents AND keep their prospects. That's a luxury I'm not apt to give away.
