Mark Bowman MarkBowman @mlbbowman Freddie Freeman's NL ranks 1st BA (.344) 1st OBP (.435) 1st SLG (.590) 1st OPS (1.025) 1st Hits (88) 1st fWAR (3.6) 1st wRC+ (175) 2nd RBI (48) 4th HR (14) Remember back not very long ago at all when there were some people who suggested we just go ahead and trade Freeman since we weren't going to be competitive anytime soon? lol... good times

I almost feel like I take him for granted a lot, and I think we all do. We really don't talk about him much, and we haven't for a few years other than talking about his wrist. On the other hand, I'm not sure what we're supposed to say. Should all of us say every day what a great player Freddie is? He's just so incredible and so steady, it's easy to just let him keep doing his thing and sit back and quietly enjoy the hell out of it.
Feeling love for the guy is easy too since he's obviously a good guy and loves playing the game, always seems to be having fun and making it fun for everybody around him.
Incredible and steady sums it up nicely. I know I take him for granted. When he gets in a slump, I get down on him too quickly until I realize he's the franchise, just like Chipper was. His defense is amazing. Just a wonderful all around player. I hope he finally gets the recognition he richly deserves this year.

In the era of shifts the SD centerfielder has to race to second because there is no one there to cover the base

That's outstanding, I believe they have a more pinpoint machine now. This is like old times on the Bistro, eh? Two guys, shootin' the schidt. The Bistro is dead, snow was back for a while, but nobody is posting there anymore.
