I was just stating one portion of the team. If Teheran puts it all together and Folty becomes consistent, the top of the rotation is set. How is the bottom three going to perform? The bullpen last year was WTF, Nick can only reach 1st base when he connects. No One to protect Freddie. There is too many question marks on the team to expect a wild card this year Yep I completely agree. And I'm fine with that. It's frustrating but it's one more year of experience for all the kids, another year to help decide who we want to keep and who we can trade, and a lot of money to spend next year. Starting with 2019 things are going to be crazy different. My worry is if they decide to trade Teheran, do they have a plan to replace him.

I can't imagine they don't plan on us having a pretty legitimate top stater one way or another. Either via trade or free agency.

Well, considering Teheran is, at best, a #2 starter, I can easily see the Braves replacing him, in house, for 2019... ...and then signing MadBum in 2020

The main reason I think the Braves will have a chance at landing MadBum is because he makes his home in Hickory, NC and I read that he spends his off-seasons there. Being close to home might give the Braves an edge, since we know that they'll be able to match any offer.

I mean it's not like he can sleep at home during a 3 game homestand, as that would be a 7-8 hour commute every day... and if he’s going to take to the air then the gNats are not much further.

Oh, it’s total speculation on my part, and it could certainly not even factor in his decision when he becomes a FA, but he’s really the only ACE out there that would have a reason more than money to sign with the Braves. That being said, it would also be considerably cheaper to fly his family to Atlanta than any other MLB town. That would be a plus in the win column for the Braves.
